I haven´t played a game for awhile now, last game was on 2009-03-05. Before that I had just got into the "zone" and played atleast 2-3 games a day for a week or so and was really enjoying myself.
Then the boyfriend decided that my computer needed an upgrade. One month later he finaly gives up on the upgrade and ever getting the thing working again. And I am now the proud owner of a brand spankingly new laptop, paid for by the boyfriend:)
This did however mean that I had no way of playing the game for some time and I am ashamed to say that I forgot abit about it.
That is until tonight.
I was at work (nightshift again) and casually surfing the "intertubes" and landed back at fumbbl.com.
There I came upon this blogentry by Purplechest:

MiniChest2 Arrives

I can honestly say that it made me quite emotional. Emotional, in a good way. He shared with us, from what I can gather, one of the most joyous and at the same time most distressing moments in his life.
It made me so glad to hear that his wife and his newborn son, Blake, are both healthy and well. I do wish Purplechest and his good family the best of futures.

The closing sentence of his blogentry was this:

"Remember this is a game eh? We are here to have fun. Life is quite serious enough."

True words indeed. We are here to have fun. But when someone so generously shares an experience as special as this with me, something precious happens. It makes me see beyond Purplechest the very good bloodbowler, and see Purplechest the proud father and good husband. And for that I thank you.

I am very aware that I have never played a game with Purplechest nor spoken to him in chat or via pm. I am also aware that he did not write the blog with me in mind.
I am but a rather new bloodbowler who has been inspired, yet again, by the nice and generous people on this site to start playing again, knowing that the opponent on the other side of the pitch is a human beeing, just like myself. Sometimes we have good days, sometimes we have bad days.

Enough sentimental ramblings from me, as soon as I get home, its back onto the pitch again :)
