Variety is the spice of life.
I have realised that it's not the bashers per se that will send people back to ranked.
It's the variety of opponents.
my 60 game frogs have played more than 1/3 of their games against chaos or dorfs including last 7 matches straight. by contrast they have faced 4 elf teams in their 60 games.

I'm sure my experience isn't unique though obviously YMMV.

Ranked offers the oppurtunity to play against a greater variety of races and also a greater variety of skills among those races.

It may be optimal to block mb po in box but in ranked coaches will be able to pimp their team to suit their own aesthetic without worrying about tv bloat or anything else.

I want to see more unusual teams with more unusual skill picks.
I want to make my own teams according to fluff not according to the optimal tv bracket to avoid playing monster teams.

I might be alone in this but I hope I'm not.
Either way I guess I'll continue playing in one form or another till I stop having fun.

I think there's a significant population that will come to this conclusion. Box was shiny and new again, and I think it works better with TV than it did with TR/TS, but once the newness wears off, a lot will head back over to ranked (especially those who once disliked the box, and may start remembering why).

Ranked has been surprisingly quiet since it's reopened, but I've had a few great games and plan to continue along in it. I LIKE my Ranked teams, compared to my Box teams which I'm fairly ambivalent towards.

Im sticking with Box, but that is because I have family and finding time for a game i tough, I know this is true of many others as well and hope that box lives for a long time so I can keep playing in it.

But I do understand your sentiments competely and agree with many of them. Crazy skills FTW.

I am in the same situation as Garion.

YMMV - just out of curiosity I decided to check how much my mileage was varying.

I have 59 games spread across 5 teams (Dwarf 18, C Dwarf 15, Norse 15, Khemri 8, Nurgle 3). My opponents have been 3 Amazon, 10 Chaos, 7 Chaos Dwarf, 3 Chaos Pact, 2 Dark Elf, 1 Dwarf, 1 Halfling, 1 High Elf, 1 Human, 1 Lizardman, 4 Necromantic, 3 Norse, 5 Nurgle, 1 Ogre, 4 Orc, 1 Skaven, 3 Slann, 1 Undead, 3 Underworld, 2 Vampire and 2 Wood Elf.

By my definition of bashy (Chaos, C Dwarf, C Pact, Dwarf, and Orc) I'm at 25 of 59 games, or 42%. If you throw in Amazons, Lizards, Necro, Norse, Nurgle and Undead I go up to 42 of 59, or 71%. But to me that second group usually hasn't reached full bash potential until higher TV and/or has glaring weaknesses that can be exploited by good coaching/dice to mitigate the bash factor.

Not sure this is good for anything, but thought I'd share for comparison to other's experiences. Overall, I've been happy with my box performance/experience so far.

The ultimate point of B (to me at least) is to provide a fair environment for tournaments, i. e. without teams deliberately pimped and customized by cheesy cherry-picking lameness.

In 39 games with my Nurgle i've only faced 1 Dwarf team and 3 Chaos. In that same period i've faced 5 Wood Elf teams. So, I think you've been unlucky :) But perhaps TV is a factor, as you have played most of your games in the 150-180 range.

Only fair to restate my comment in the previous comparison blog.

There are no more new arguments in this debate. Let's all play what we enjoy, preferrably a mix of both division depending on what you feel like.

The comparisons between R and B are not relevant if everyone just plays the division they feel like playing in that day (or even that game)

I thought I was well within my rights as a member of fumbbl to write whatever I like on my blog. My blog is not intended as an argument or a polemic it is is just the thoughts I sometimes try to verbalise when the mood takes me. I'm happy for you to write what you like in your own blogs, or comment on my blog appropriately. I am happy with the majority of feedback I receive good and bad as it almost always results in thinking about something new or understanding anothers point of view.
Stating that a blog adds nothing to the grand scheme of things on fumbbl I think is a little like the thought police. Surely there is plenty of room for us to state whatever we like on our blogs and discuss anything we want provided we follow the rules on fumbbl.
This is not a forum rehashing an old argument.
just some thoughts i was having.
