The "prequels" to the Star Wars Trilogy suffer from a complete lack of continuity with the original Trilogy. After watching Star Wars and listening to all the references to the past, I can't see how the "prequels" actually link up to the Trilogy... After watching the first two movies again, and parts of the third, I made notes of references to the past and came up with my own version Star Wars history. This is also based on the little I remember of the "prequels", which, after the first one, I found were pretty forgettable (the Darth Maul/Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan being the best thing about the "prequels")

Things would have been better if George Lucas had bothered to watch the Trilogy again before making the "prequels".

Points to note:

Obi-Wan gave up using that name before Like was born.

Darth Vader "helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights".

The Jedi religion is considered to be "ancient".

Leia remembers her birth mother.
