Quite the freak. Unusual to choose pass. But I can see the appeal of 2+ short pass with rr.

Yes the 2+ Pass is for desperate plays, for example when I can't protect him and I have to punt/pass the ball, it's nice to be able to reroll the pass in case I had to use a rr earlier.
