The Beasts of Crimson Keep were sent forth to win glory for the Lady Lenore. They entered the CabalVision Inter-regional Blood Bowl League's Youngblood Tournament as a sure bet for success. How did that pan out?

Their first game was against snotlings. Lady Lenore seethed when she heard the news. Snotlings are the scum of the Old World and what a humiliation to be forced to share a pitch with them. This had all the marks of her Lahmian sister nemesis at the Scions of Neferata. But Lady Lenore got the upper hand by having the entire team wiped out on the way to the match. No sham games for this proud team! (Basically the snotling team quit CIBBL).

League commissioner JDM hurriedly found a more 'suitable' team for their first match...

Game 1: Hellfire Inferno (Fire Elemental)

A hotly contested game. BoCK failed to get a player in scoring range all match, but the vampires proved to be tenacious on defence. They repeatedly sacked the ball back into possession to keep the scoresheet clean. Even the thralls got involved.



Game 2: Mordheim Sewer Marauders (Clan Eshin)

The rats scampered over the line in a flash and put the BoCK on the back foot but with a decent drive potential to equalise. In fact in the second half the rats blitzed off the line and caused some havoc before a vampire collected the ball. So this match was essentially two steady drives from the Blood Dragons with the Assassins delaying and tactically striking at weak points to delay the advance. And delay they did, forcing two desperation dives for a TD. One of these failed a GFI early and the other...



Was efficiently shut down too. Or was it? Vampires are certainly a fun team for making the big plays with:



Ah yeah not quite. 0-1 and the first, and hopefully only taste of defeat.

Game 3: Predators of the Deep (Sons of Stromfels)

BoCK received and began to drive up the pitch. At least that was the plan. It quickly became apparent that it was all the knights could do to avoid being shark food and scoring was once again left to the thralls. But their undermanned cage was surrounded.



Blood Bowl is easy if you roll the right dice! In the second half things descended into madness, but after the sharks had eaten enough of their kinsmen there was little resistance to Sir Corduin the Black taking it over the line for a 2-0 win.


Overall a 1-1-1 with +1 TD delta was enough for the silverware. It probably would have been first place if we had not played away every game. CIBBL is as much about politics as it is about BB it seems! I just hope that I have some tackle by the time I meet those rats again.
