High TV humans
For the second time in their almost 300 games history, the Vault Tec Squad is in the 1900TV range.
The build is similar and is functional to my preferred play style with humans, positional/low bash: a full set of blodge/guard blitzers (doubles are 1/6, so if you keep them alive enough...), one of them as the killer, no ogre, the odd catcher for the improbable OTS, 1/2 throwers and linemen to fill a 13/14 players roster. But without the ogre you reach such an high TV only when Nuffle distributes his gifts. And he decided for two very different set of gifts.

The Vault Tec Squad as we known, winner of a Human League Premiership and a Blackbox Brawl, had an elvish dimension in its plays: Bachelor, an AG5 thrower, Shooter and Reaper, two AG4 blodge blitzers.

The current version is to the opposite extreme: the VTS is loaded with ST4: Collector, a thrower, Sniper and Gunner, two blitzers.

So, why I made this blog? Not to brag about luck with skill rolls (well, maybe a bit...), but to comment about the fact that I find the two builds completely different in terms of effectiveness.

I will never turn down a gift from Nuffle, so I took all the +ST rolls I got, but the +ST roster is definitely inferior to the +AG one. At least in my experience and based on my play style, a basic human build with a full complement of guard/mighty blow/tackle is enough to play the basher role against agility teams at high TV and the additional strength doesn't add anything to that (only give them a few more skills). Moreover, the additional strength doesn't turn your human team in the basher against the real bashers (clawpombers) you find at this TV, they will trash you anyway.
On the over hand, the additional agility can really make a screen/running/short passing game easier. You will never be an elf, but against high TV bash you need to capitalize on your speed and mobility, and some AG4/AG5 make it a lot less risky.

Your thoughts?

You're not going to be top basher very often at that TV.

+AG can steal you the win when you have been out bashed and even out played.

I agree +AG is better for humans than +ST. Gunner could have taken break tackle instead of stand firm though.

Humans strength is their elf bashing ability and they do it well, agility helps more cos it means they can elf the bash which is something they struggle with without help

@Overhamsteren
True, but I never had a stand firm human blitzer and he was a good candidate to experiment with it.

Blodge/SF blitzers are a must

all Blodge blitzers have to find a way to get stand firm into the mix.

+AG roster is not superior to the +ST roster.

You need a mix of both and hopefully the +ST/+AG fall on the right positionals.

Cant go back and change it...but front man needed stand firm instead of Pile On and Gunner needed the pile on instead of the stand firm.

I do find it funny though.

The Altdorf Hammers are the compelet opposite...all +AG and no +ST and also sitting at the 1900 TV range.

Death Upon Us is in that range as well - but we have a Blodge Ogre that inflates the TV along with our ST 5 lineman and ST4/AG4 thrower - so our blitzers are half rookies...not sure I would fare well against your team honestly.
