"Please state your problem/issue and an admin will help you when one is available"

When someone joins #fumbbladmin and then, instead of stating their problem, they proceed to demand that someone respond to them and engage in conversation first (sometimes for hours without ever stating their problem), then they are much less likely to have their problem resolved quickly.

It is not always the case that staff idling in #fumbbladmin are at the keyboard and watching you type. Often they are elsewhere doing other things and will return and read the channel logs at some point. If a problem is clearly stated in the channel log, then it can be resolved faster. If the log does not describe the problem, then it takes longer.

I think the analogy of answering machine vs doorbell is apt.
