Toronto tournament
I happen to organize this year's Orion Cup - the premium one-day tournament in downtown Toronto, held on June 27th. Lots of you will also know the tournament as "The one where Lorebass played his first tabletop match - without admin rights". The finest coaches from Canada and the US (or at least the ones that live relatively close and don't have plans otherwise) will meet for three games of Bloodbowl to establish the new Orion Cup champion.

It is basically a resurrection-style tournament, similar to the NAF-featured tournaments we have seen on Fumbbl recently. All the details regarding the rule set can be found here in the official NAF forum.

If you are in the area and interested to try real life Bloodbowl or consider reactivating the Human team you half-painted as a teenager, this is your chance! We are always glad to welcome new and slightly used coaches, and it is no problem if you don't own a team. Finally, you won't believe how much nicer double 6s look in 3D:

I suppose I'd need to bring my board/teams if I were to go? How many hours is the whole event typically? I haven't ever participated in a live tournament

Nono Balle, that's Uranus.

That's the week before my project kicks into high gear, but if someone wants to lend me a team of minis, I'll try and make it.

Rat_Salat, footballolb16, I can provide you with minis, boards, dice and nerdy shirts, no problem. Just let me know what teams you like to play.

If it's a tabletop tourney, I'd probably roll with Welves.

I will have to see if I can make it... How long is the whole event? One day thing or multiple days?
Posted by Stimme on 2015-05-31 05:13:31
One day, 11AM to 7PM. Would have liked to start a bit earlier to get a fourth game in, but we are limited by the opening hours.

I never understand how 3 games can crown a champion unless there are 8 or fewer participants, but I suppose tie breakers come into play, so yeah, WE for everyone!

:)
