Dear coaches!

As the frequency or questions about the state of SR Rankings do increase which I am happy with as it seems that SR has its appreciation and followers, it is time to address why it was not refreshed for weeks.

The answer is the SR in hiatus simply because of the recent double elimination tournament which requires its own handler to get added.

Double elimination is basically the third tournament type. It would have been easier if the round values would be unique for the losers bracket but they are not, so if I allocate points to a certain round it will be given to winners of both brackets which should be avoided.

I also not decided about the scoring system. Here is the tournament in question. As you can see once in looser's bracket a team should win more games to progress. The scores should be allocated so that the final winner should get the same points regardless of its bracket.

Also, the winner's points should not get affected the number of finals (1 or 2). However, the runner-up should get more points if it won one match against the final winner.

Probably the winner of a double elimination tournament will be awarded a little less points than the winner of a traditional KO tournament with same number of participants, as the total points given should be roughly the same. On the other side, there is a higher probability to get a decent amount of points in a double elimination tournament.

Expect the winner to get about 200 points which is still a good amount for a minor.

Note that the coding/restarting SR is a low priority task for me ATM. However, it will be surely back in the not very far future.
