So, as part of our homestand, we hosted the Odder Undertakers.
I was hoping that they were a guild of, well, you know, corpse handlers.
Technically, they were.
Also technically, it was more of the Undead, with a necromantic coach.
So, we played them and did pretty well. They Scored in the First Half, while I was unconscious on the bench. We finished the Half by holding the ball to run out the clock.
In the Second Half ThreeKills brought in a new Troll Slayer he had just hired yesterday morning. He had sat and skulked against the Orcs this morning, but this evening played like a Dwarf possessed. He was everywhere, fearless and crazed.
And then, he saw Romny fall under Holfort's block. The mummy stepped towards our downed LongBeard and something snaped in the Slayer's head.
He SCREAMED, an utterly terrifying warcry, and charged the mummy. Everyone froze. Holfort turned slowly to him, just in time to take the hit squarely.
The only way to describe it is to compare it to a pillow that gets all the feathers knocked out of it in a pillow fight. Bits of ancient wrappings literally exploded in a cloud of dust, cloth and yuckie things. It took a good minute before the debris settled enough to see anything.
And what I saw was the Troll Slayer, weeping and laughing, holding an ancient crown in his hand.
ThreeKills says his name is Kin Slayer.
That bothers me a lot, but he is certainly a terror on the pitch.
