I should give you a one for fouling so weakly.

What's up with people bragging about being blacklisted?
Posted by Wreckage on 2009-04-30 10:49:28
I've blacklisted you because you are on someones blacklist
Posted by DukeTyrion on 2009-04-30 11:21:07
I should Blacklist Wreckage, for Blacklisting someone who is on someone else's Blacklist ... erm, I think.

You dont say what type of game it was. I think T16 fouling in [L]eague is perfectly acceptable as it could also help stop your opponent do well in his next game. T16 fouling in [R]anked is a bit harsh tho.

crowdsurfing in the game = advantage to win this particular game ... fouling in t16 = ... no bonus in the match so totally useless. an injury wouldn't even give the 2 spp, so there is no reason at all to do so.

Warewolves are the bane of many a team for sure... Foul away is what I say... perhaps he will learn to keep them protected if he wants them to last longer than 5 minutes.
I would foul a high SPP warewolf every turn even if I lost half my team to the Refs eyes... because I would be doing it for the good of the community as a whole.
Whitelist me! Im a good person. :D

I rated a one for the pathetic fouling. If you're going to foul T16, you need to get better at it ;)
Posted by Wreckage on 2009-04-30 12:43:56
TBH... when you are playing Necros, you really gotta put all your heart and faith into the survival of the Wolves.... it's understandable that he is pissed when you foul him for no other reason then to hurt him. Of course, you are free to do it... but don't wonder when people are pissed when you give them reason to be... I mean... It doesn't make you a bad person or sth. noone of you did sth wrong... but he also has the right to put you on his blacklist for whatever reason he likes... even if it is just that you said "moep" during the game, once. he actually has a reasonable point in better looking for other opponents..... so it's allright... anyhow...
that was kind of the point of my prior post....I didn't actually really put you on my blacklist...
Posted by DukeTyrion on 2009-04-30 12:46:19
I didn't put Wreckage on my Blacklist either, it was more a failed attempt at humour on my part :-P

So you are okay with other people with other people trying to injure your team for no ingame reason? I guess I should put you on my list of people, that i will foul when the game is decided and/or in T16. Just because you seem to enjoy such treatment.
Posted by oktan on 2009-04-30 15:16:50
fouling is part of the game right?
that werewolf guy should then switch to chess or monopoly...
admittedly a foul in the last turn is not
in the fashion of Marquess of Queensberry, but it is up to oneself to protect ones keyplayers, in my opinion.
sorry, for you just stunned him, get DP asap
;-)
cheers,

i feel robbed when my opp hasn't done 2 cas for his FF and doesn't foul in t16. werewolves need to die as well, they even deserve fouls on t17 and t18.

Come back when you T16 foul + KILL a werewolf.....
FALE
Posted by Kryten on 2009-04-30 17:26:00
There's a difference between trying to win the game and just booting because you feel like it. Personally, I don't see the point in a T16 foul like yours. That said, there are some matches where such a foul is just part of the fun of playing bloodbowl. I will do whatever I can do win, but I want my opponent to have a fun time too.
Posted by ryanfitz on 2009-04-30 18:45:25
You don't like fouls, go play Madden or a dozen of other games. Play bb and expect people to foul when THEY like, not when you approve of it. If you want, create a league where coaches will get banned for fouling however you deem unseemly. And yes, if your gonna foul, make it count!

yeah, fouling WW's = good
fael fouling = FAEL

T16 fouls are acceptable sometimes. Sometimes they leave a bad taste in your mouth. It really depends on the situation.
I have often encouraged opponents to T16 foul me, such as when I have annihilated their team, or it has been an all around blood bath. I don't mind the foul for 2nd cas reason either.
Also, if you have style (such as Paulhicks), you can T16 foul all the time.
Now... If you cry & lament & throw the foul & quickly exit the game without calling me a dirty lucker or letting me thank you for the game... I often feel thats cheesy.
Oh, and of course if you're Calcium any T16 foul is just cheesy (Haha! I figured I'd play on your paranoia... Im kidding of course).

If he leaves the wolf lying on the floor to avoid getting blocked in the last turn then feel free to show him the error of his ways.
Knocking someone down and then fouling them, on the last turn, is a bit lame unless you haven't got your 2 CAS yet. On the other hand, killing stuff can be pretty fun, and it isn't really spiteful necessarily, just fun.

I voted a 1, just becourse you did it knowing that you would get blacklisted, and still dont know if you are happy or sad about it!
Consider consequences BEFORE acting, that would help a lot of people.
Be happy if that was your goal (and this was likely to happen). Be sad if you hoped for him to accept your pointless (gamewise) but fun foul.
Posted by adambomb on 2009-04-30 23:02:49
Shimin...I didn't know I'd get blacklisted for it, I was surprised when he informed me that he was adding me to his blacklist as, up to that point, we'd had a great game. I fouled his wolves every opportunity I got for the ENTIRE game, not just T16 and he never said peep about it until the T16 one.
Why was I so relentless in trying to punish the wolves? I was playing Amazons and it was his only player with Tackle....and he DID crowd surf 3 of my players with them, taking push over POW if it meant getting me closer to the sidelines...you're telling me that wasn't intent to injure either?
Now I'm not the kind of player that often fouls on T16, in fact I don't advocate it....but when he didn't stand his wolf up BEFORE handing off the ball (and failing) in T17, I felt this was an invitation to lay the boots to him. Also I only had 1 CAS for the game, so it would have been my 2nd if it had succeeded. And thirdly, sometimes a guy just wants revenge.
Posted by Chrome_ghoul on 2009-05-02 16:04:48
But, is'nt it in the rules that Wardancers, Werewolves, and Gutter runners must be fouled at any given opportunity?
If he didn't stand the players up, and was rellying on you not to foul out of charity I suggest he's playing the wrong game.

Fouling in one off games just because "that is the way it is done" is one reason ranked sucks. Play friendlies in a friendly way and then take your league and tournaments more seriously.
