FUMBBL Poker Club
I've started a Club on Poker Stars for FUMBBL coaches. It is entirely free, no real money is required. If you would like to join, send me a PM or contact me in IRC and i will give you the code to join. I was thinking about having regular tournaments on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. I'm going to try to hold a tournament tonight, despite the short notice. I was thinking that holding the tournaments in early American evenings/late European Night would likely reach the largest number of FUMBBL coaches. So thats what we're going to start with, although if there are enough requests, i will begin having games at other times as well. I think no limit hold em is the obvious game to start with, but again, if there are enough requests, other game types will be played as well.

I would like to start a league on FUMBBL that uses combined standings from Blood Bowl games and poker tournaments to crown its champion. So the main reason for me starting this club is to find coaches who would like to play in said league.

Here's the link to the Poker Stars website: http://www.pokerstars.net/
After you download the free software and install it, you can join my FUMBBL poker club by clicking on the 'Home Games' tab on the far top right, clicking the 'Join a Poker Club' tab on the middle left and then entering the code i give you. I need to be able to match up Poker Stars screen names with FUMBBL coach names, so plz don't get the code from someone who has already joined, make sure you contact me personally to get the code.

btw, i'm MikeTheSixth on Poker Stars and hopefully we can get enough coaches to play a tournament around midnight blood bowl time.

They started all those sites back up? I hadn't looked into it really since the whole real-money thing blew up and they shut down (for everything).

Interesting league concept, if nothing else.

Nice idea, but as Jimmy said....no money, no incentive. I'd rather play poker for a few quid.

its just free money. i don't know how it is in other countries, but when you go to the website as an american, theres some warning and some notice about withdrawing deposits from old accounts from the days when it was legal to play online poker for money in america. theres also a link to go to the main site to download the program or check out what the site has to offer.

Misread your comment....

It's still illegal to gamble online in America?
Posted by pythrr on 2012-05-21 19:20:00
when the realized they could not tax it .... :)

Would be fun but for me there isn't much risk/excitement in raising the stakes or bluffing if you don't have to put in at least a small amount of money.
Was gambling outlawed while the conservatives were in power?

Buy/own enough guns to invade a small foriegn country, but.....
DONT CLICK ON THAT DEPOSIT BUTTON!

Damn, as cool as America appears it doesn't half get some crap totally wrong eh?

its illegal to gamble for real money online in america (thx to vegas and the catholic church). when the law was passed banning online gambling, all sites that offered online gambling were blocked in america. since that time the law has either been amended and/or poker stars has made the appropriate adjustments to allow americans to only access the free money portion of their site

@pythrr: actually, the people who run the poker stars and party poker wanted to work with the american government to tax the sites (because they realized they stood to make a lot more money with americans in the game). the american government declined and never issued an official reason as to why they declined.

yeah, isn;t it viewed as a form of "wire fraud"?
