No, grumpiness is never justified!
Posted by luckyjim12 on 2013-01-18 14:17:19
it was very moderate grumpiness. he may not have noticed.
Posted by gjopie on 2013-01-18 14:22:09
If nobody notices, grumpiness is allowed, but you're only making yourself less happy, so is it worth it?

CD Team... 11 players, no bulls... 1 re-roll... no skills on hobbos except one Leader, not even a developed ball carrier... three CD Blockers with over 100 SPP, all three with ClawPOMB... 1230k TV...
That's pretty blatant, admittedly. However, I suggest a person who would build such a team and maintain it for 44 matches will not care whether you are grumpy. Or worse, he might even enjoy it. So where's the use? Speaking of justification... it is a valid team build by site rules, so...
Posted by luckyjim12 on 2013-01-18 14:31:19
I know it's a valid team and it's only a game etc etc. But the team structure and the fact that he repeatedly re-rolled KOs got on my nerves.
It seems to me it would be better in ranked where someone can decide whether to play them or not.
And my fouls on the star players were fruitless.
Posted by Verminardo on 2013-01-18 14:32:17
Yeah well you don't have to like it, that's for sure!

Just know that they are idiots*, and move on.
* Idiots = basing their fun on how much they can destroy your fun.

Being grumpy needs no justification Taking it out on the opponent (by being an arse) can't be justified and could get you in trouble.
Posted by Verminardo on 2013-01-18 14:38:11
Though individual notions of what "being an arse" constitutes vary.
Posted by luckyjim12 on 2013-01-18 14:42:02
My exact words were: "congratulations on the deaths. It must be fun". so not too bad.

Its team builds like this one that make me stop playing B more than I do. Gotta love these TV scheduler exploiters :)
One day they may get get bored of noob jacking and beating up rookie teams but I doubt it :P
Posted by Verminardo on 2013-01-18 15:43:24
Yeah, like corpse camping grew old pretty quickly in MMORPGs. ;)
Posted by JackassRampant on 2013-01-18 16:01:30
Define "grumpy". Did you threaten to swim across the ocean to pay him back in person? (On TT I hope, but swimming across the ocean with painted pewter sounds like a decidedly bad idea.) Or did you just complain that he was gratuitously chomping on you?
Oh, and I PO KOs when I'm up men, too. It's less senseless, in fact, than PO'ing a non-break after the game is in hand, or gratuitous fouling: at least PO on KO is motivated by profit AND bloodlust, not just bloodlust. Still, I get what you mean about that kind of experience.

Don't play box. Problem solved.
Seriously; teams like that, which abuse the rules because of the perpetual nature of blackbox, and basically take advantage of any newish teams or players, they just suck the fun out of the game for the opposing coach.
It's like any involuntary system (whereby I'm classing the match up machine of blackbox as involuntary), there are those kind of people who delight in finding ways to exploit it. The only way to avoid that is to use the system that is far harder to exploit because people simply won't indulge really nasty TV-exploitative sides. That system is ranked.
Posted by maysrill on 2013-01-18 16:42:48
This happens a fair bit in the Box. It's fair, valid, and commonplace (though not ubiquitous).
Ranked is the solution though, if you want to avoid it.

It's clearly a strategy that works:
Games Played: 46 (26/5/15) | TD Diff: 12 (62 - 50) | Cas Diff: 102 (105/51/28 - 50/21/11)
Posted by Malmir on 2013-01-18 17:46:17
Entirely justified imo. Pathetic team build and the coach deserves your pity or contempt depending on how generous you are feeling.
Posted by Beerox on 2013-01-18 18:10:05
You should always be grumpy with Chaos Dorfs. If you aren't, then something is wrong with you.
Posted by PigStar-69 on 2013-01-18 19:49:35
some teams bash some temas dont. be grumpy but dont be suprised !
Posted by garyt1 on 2013-01-18 19:53:48
People who repeatedly reroll kos haven't got much idea of winning, they only want spps to make their killers even more annoying.
Posted by WhatBall on 2013-01-18 22:09:33
You're in the Box, what do you expect?
Posted by ahalfling on 2013-01-18 22:17:48
Well, you only took four casualties. Bad luck for you that three of them were deaths, but an AV7 team taking 4 casualties... isn't that basically just another day at the office? I mean, what were you expecting from Amazons playing Dwarves?
Posted by Wreckage on 2013-01-19 00:05:33
As long as it is withing the rules it is always fine to be grumpy.
Posted by Sionis on 2013-01-20 03:07:11
Not worth the effort to be grumpy.
Posted by Severedunit on 2013-03-01 16:53:32
Last 10 games w/that team: BH-27, SI-13, KILLS-12 = 52 Cas and a 9-1 run. It's a ugly build but wins games. Less skill required to score when you're facing only 3-5 defenders(assuming KO's) but you can't argue with a 9-1 run. The one team to beat his was Pro Elf,btw.

I believe the phrase you are looking for is "Welcome to Blackbox, Have a Nice Day". Like it or lump it.
