I've finished painting my tabletop skaven team. These models were my prize from BUBBLE 2511, and I've played a lot of tabletop skaven since, so they were overdue a lick of paint.
To be fair I'm not too fond of the models (blitzers and rogre holding the ball? really?), and partly as a result of that the paint job isn't nearly as dedicated as my
Slann.
The reason I think they're still worth a blog entry is that I AM very pleased about the simple bits of modding I did on the gutter runners.
The models (Impact ratmen) have only a single model per position, this means that there are only 5 different models, with 4 copies of the gutter, 6 copies of the lineman, 2 of the blitzer and thrower, and a single rogre. While I don't mind the bland linos that much, or even the blitzers, having 4 identical gutters really bugged me.
By cannibalizing the second thrower (the choice is between 1 or 0, right?), I added an arm and a head to the gutters. Add in some simple bending and (un) twisting of limbs, and tails, and you have 4 very different gutters, representing the types of specialization typically (or atypically, in case of the catcher) found in a skaven team:

The retrieval specialist (two heads, sure hands)

The receiving specialist (extra arms, catch). He can also hold the ball with his tail.

The sacker (leap, dauntless)

The oneturner (MA, sprint, sure feet)
