Multiple Accounts
Every now and then I play coaches with lots more fumbbl experience than their profile admits to. Coaches with join dates a month or two old that make their moves very quickly, and know the ins and outs of the Java client. Clearly they've played heavily before - and I can only conclude it was using another account.

This is lame and not necessary. If you are an expert coach, be proud of your record and play using your main fumbbl account. I am happy to play you in B whatever your record.

Just because people are good at the game doesn't mean they cheat.
The client isn't that complex to learn and Bloodbowl isn't excactly a new game either. It didn't take me long to figure it all out and play fast after that.

Calador : I certainly do know a lot of newcomers with 80% victories in Ranked.

But of course, they were noobs!
Posted by Hank on 2008-12-28 12:21:19
Well, being new to fumbbl doesnt mean that you are a noob. When I joined I had played the game about 10 years and was playing regulary in a league.

Proof is required before this blog carries ANY weight.

'Clearly they've played heavily before - and I can only conclude it was using another account.'

clearly? Mabye they just play fast. Or are naturally good BB players. Once you gain said proof, do what Circular suggests.

Some people maybe want to start on a clear sheet and starts a new career. Ending the tha last one. Some players come back after a long time absence and under a new name. Some players cheat. I found the later happens very seldom though.

hmmm....

i guess you're referring to this match?

http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=2480705

so basically you are citing your evidence as the following...

1 - plays fast
2 - knows the ins and outs of the java client

as far as point #1...maybe he has a history of playing blood bowl, and knows the game in and out?...

and point #2? maybe he has a friend who introduced him, and watched his friend play?...

but let's delve just a hair deeper shall we?...

maybe this has something to do with the fact that your opponent has a 98/43/65 record in 2 months(200 games in 2 months...jeez, emphasy jr?), and a 58% win ratio?...

interesting...

did you know, westerner...that in your first 2 months, you had a 53/10/24 record, a 66% win ratio, which includes a *15* game win streak?..

you play fast, and know the client....and had a better "first 2 month" record that baki did...

maybe we need to turn the spotlight on you, and be curious about whether or not you have multiple accounts?

I agree with shadow, and would like to add a bit from my own experience. Before joining fumbbl, some of my old TT buddies and I ran a JavaBB league for a few months. My brother and I also played several hotseat games. By the time I started here, I had the client well under control.

[quote Smilinmatt]

"i agree with shadow"

I bet you feel dirty now huh?

This just seems yet more nasty inference without basis, and yet another [B] plug.

Yawn.

Change the record

Besides, it doesnt take two whole months to become familiar with a program. I guess on average by the fourth time i use a game/program im fairly competant at using it by then

@Shadow
not the spotlight!! Actually, yes, I am a multiple account. I'm your repressed good side escaping to play BB.
Posted by JanMattys on 2008-12-28 17:51:59
People are allowed to start another account, informing the admins and asking to delete the old one.
Posted by Calcium on 2008-12-28 17:52:21
I played the Java client in stand alone whilse I was banned for a week when i made a mistake with multiple accounts in joining April 07. So I knew the Program well. My BB skill let me down badly mind.

Apparently Ladbrokes has closed betting on this being your 1st and only account here....I was gonna lay down a £tenner£ on you being exactly what your blog whines about....

When i first joined here i am pretty sure i made an account called "bunalot" first. Then i realized the typo and made another one, with a correct spelling. I wonder where bunalot is gone:(

Could you post the the WHOLE list of all the coaches you think is or has a multi account. Lets find and burn the witches

I mean, BB is not that hard to learn or be decent in if you are good at strategy.
To learn how the client function, is not that hard either. He has 3 academy games, more then enough time to learn how it function.
Some people are fast thinkers and some are not. Some are quickly to deal with different situations whereas others deal with it slower.

Now when can we get the list of witches to burn?
Posted by DonTomaso on 2008-12-29 11:24:08
Well, there are some suspicious accounts around.

There is a gobbo-coach, who came from nothing and went straight to BlackBox, having played nothing else.
That seems sort of fishy... By no means impossible, just a bit unusual... Not enough to burn them, though...
Posted by DonTomaso on 2008-12-29 15:14:23
To all who wonders, the odd coach is Lamesville...

Perhaps not illegal, but certainly odd....

I knew the cline tvery well as I started playing here. We had a close group of ffriends running a tabletop league and we spent a lot of time playing our teams online with the client. Then we started to play on fumbbl and at that I might not have been the best coach ever but I knew how to handle the game and the client and I won more games then I lost.
Posted by f_alk on 2008-12-29 20:07:50
Maybe there are people who know there is a world outside of Fumbbl and maybe Fumbbl was built around the client while the client is older than Fumbbl and can be used outside this website?
I am wondering if this post is stupidity, ignorance of the outside world, arrogance over the outside world, or something else I didn't think of here.
I mean "Clearly they've played heavily before - and I can only conclude it was using another account." ... is a statement which excludes the existance of a world outside of Fumbbl and leads me to above possibilities, but not to any single conclusion.
Posted by catmando on 2008-12-29 22:05:26
Maybe they are just very good at playing on fumbbl. Not everyone has to cheat to be good at something. My wife has played fewer games on here than I have and she already has a higher win rate and CR than I do.
