History of the Martyrs Sponsored By: Gnome Depot: Stay out of our way and we'll get it done. Current Arena: Redemption Fields Capacity:40,000 A group of Dwarves who had never left the safety of the Mountainhomes before deciding to take up the uniforms of Blood Bowl players, the Mountainhome Martyrs take their namesake from the fact that the founders of the team were banished for various transgressions, and told they only way they could return was in coffins. Thusly, the Martyrs consider the act of dying on the pitch to be the greatest honor, second only, of course, to killing on the pitch.
*Red are Journeymen Despite their name, nobody on the Martyrs have retired or died in the line of duty in a sufficient manner to warrant memorializing yet.
As a young team, nobody has played nearly long enough to reach the lofty heights where calling them a star would be appropriate. Most wouldn't even get a blurb in the paper. The Martyrs only attempt at a tournament so far has been Royal Rookie Rumble CCCXXV, where they were unceremoniously trounced 2-0 in the first round The Martyrs have not collected any silverware or loot from any regulatory commission or opposing team. SO for the moment the trophy case is just filled with ale kegs. |
