DrPoods' Box (Grid) Filling Extravaganza - Update 2
Hey all, just a quick update on the grid effort. Things have been up and down but we have managed to find a few more unique matchups which is nice. Progress slowed a bit as I kept fishing with my Chaos squad looking for a couple more on the list. Unsurprisingly, given the TV the team stands at we seem to run in to the same old faces when we activate. With this in mind, I have played some CD and some Nurgle and caught a few up. Pretty much my plan is to play a team for a while and when things look like stagnating in terms of matchups I will move on. It does look though like I may have to consider starting secondary teams at a later time in order to get some of those other ones I need. For example, I don't think there are too many Halfling or Goblin teams at 1700 in the Box at present!

Without further ado, here is the current status of the extravaganza! I suppose it is possible I may have missed one but I like to update my note when I finish a game so things might actually be accurate. O_O

Current Overall Box Record: 39/27/66 (Scientifically known as "bleeding awful)
TDs: For: 71 Against: 73 (-2)
CAS: For: 188/101/56 Against: 149/78/35 (+83)

Unique Matchups - 73/576 (12.67%)

This means that I have 73 unique matches in 132 Box games. Works out to 55.3% of the time. A pretty handy strike rate if truth be told.

Until next time, may all your CAS be badly hurt and all your rolls be 6s. Except against me of course :)

If we keep activating at the same times (the dead of night according to FUMBBL Server Time) we'll both fill that grid sure enough. GO GRID!

Neophytes!

As accomodating as that may be mrt, I'm pretty sure collaboration to activate in Blackbox is very illegal here.

I think mrt1212 is just joking at the fact that, given the times I mainly activate, there aren't a ton of coaches doing it. Being in Oz can have that issue.

And Bill, we all have to start somewhere!!

I'm not sure that's what they are talking about Wreckage. My take is that it's more a sad commentary on the lack of coaches willing to activate in the box at certain times of the day. Because of the low participation rate you're likely to draw the same coaches and teams over and over in certain non-european timezones.

What are we supposed to do? Not activate because you see one of the other frequent boxers in your TV range is online?

Wreckage:

I have a day by day schedule of teams I activate in Box. You can see it in the About section for me. This is great for me because it keeps the game fresh and interesting - I always have tomorrow to work on another team, work on another strategy if things don't pan out today. Also, that grid isn't going to fill itself.

Secondly, I live on the West Coast of the United States. It is a desolate time zone for getting matches, I usually can activate from 02:00 to 7:00 (8:00 if I want to be sleep deprived) and it just so happens that I play some of the same coaches about half the time I get a game in Box. On weekdays I am up against insominiac europeans, east coast graphic designers, aussies and asian with leisurely lives, and the occasional canadian.

Not my fault there are people in my timezone that refuse to play Box. I play all teams weekly, I give a variety of experiences to my opponent to enjoy, I'm just here doing my thing.

See ya in Box (Maybe?)
