Yes it's true. My Box High Elves, Brianne Kaylee and Emma Rose hit 100 games last night. In a very fitting match up I was put against Mrt1212 since he is my most common opponent. I ended up losing the game because I did not realize he had a pass blocker....seriously, who has a pass blocker in the box????

They do not have the best record of the ELves in the box. They are really bad at laying the hurt down and they really don't score that much. But they have survived some epic beat downs! And they have me coaching them, so they are truly at a disadvantage.

I would say our best win was a 4-3 score against a min-maxed chaos dwarf team in which we scored while only 2 turns remained and only 2 Elves were left. Seriously, watch it at the end.

Our worst loss was probably recently in which we snaked on back to back turns to lose in the FUbar cup. Either one of those rolls not being snakes would have probably sealed the game for us....This game does not sit well with me, but oh well.


Anyway, I have learned a lot in 100 games and I would like to share some of these thoughts:

*I hate Chaos Dwarves. As soon as I see this match up I want to give up. I have a 1/2/6 record vs them. The win was a total shithouse luck job. They just suck the life(literally) out of my team. So much tackle and claw and mb....and a damn blodge sure hands cow usually is holding the ball. If I could get to it, I always lack the firepower to bring it down. I suffer about 4 casualties a game and do less than half a casualty a game. We hates them.

*I can not beat Necromantic. 0/0/4 against them and they just pummel me. They are sooo damn tough and their bench is soo deep they hump you.

*Humans and their endless supply of POMB can suck our hairless asses. I have a 4/4/8 record against them and they usually put some real good hurt on us without us being able to hit back since they have so much more guard. 16 of my 100 games have been vs humans.

*Nurgz, believe it or not are a joke. I have a 6/4/2 record vs them because they usually lack tackle since they are all designed in the box to take out killer teams, not elves.

*I forgot how to play against Elves. Since they happen so infrequently when I do draw them I basically Derp and forget that they are as fast an agile as me.....and all the other elves always seem to have MB out the ass and bust us up.

*High Elf catchers have an average life span of 17 games for me; not so good.

In a non-brawl/non playoff game, if the game is not going your way and your numbers are diminshing....you just need to back off and live for another day. This is a REALLY tough concept for me to swallow but it's the only way you are surviving in the box.

*+st is good on one or two players....any more than that and it bloats you up and you will lose. I was fielding 5 +st guys and in that stretch I had terrible losses. Having one or two helps tip the scales and keeps your TV low enough where you can compete.

* I have never played vs slann, vampires or halflings.

*No matter how you slice it, I am a terrible high elf coach but I do believe it is a team that needs a little tweaking to make them better.

* We managed a first place finish among Box teams for the last E.L.F. season!


Despite what some may say, you can survive in the box. Yeah there are going to be some bad stretched but that's part of the game. I just wish we could get more variety.......

In the past I have blogged about this team and their follies but overall it has been a good 100 games and I am able to field a full team. However, the lineman are always just fodder and do not survive more than a handful of games. BLodge? yeah right.

At this point I think it is high time I try and create a logo for this team. They have not had one their entire run. I should also update the player pictures to be my actual family members but I never have luck getting them sized correctly. I will have to load up PS and see what I can do.

I should possibly look into getting some cool bbcode entered but I have a rudimentary knowledge and everytime I mess with it I get upset and move on....
