Back on FUMBBL
It's good being back on fumbbl after many years, but so far I don't really like the way BB2020 is geared...it's blood bowl, but I don't know, it's missing something. Dorfs, for sure, are still hot and I can't coach a High Elf team to save my ass. One thing is for sure, the players on FUMBBL are top dogs and are quite good. They find the current meta and twist the knife.
RIP passing. I bought the new box set (I didnt need it, since I have 20 teams and 8 pitches but wanted the rulebook) and was teaching my kids to play. My son threw a pass backwards and out of bounds when he was wide open and no one within 5 squares of him...that's just dumb. There isn't a high school QB that would do that, and physics wouldn't let that happen. A fumble, maybe. But to literally bomb it backwards? No. I hope GW takes notes but playing BB and other GW games for the better part of 30 years I am not encouraged.
I love the fact box and ranked are combined - get a bad box draw and you can be a dirty rotten picker to recover. It's still crazy how much you can retard the leveling of your team - I can have "skill" next to 7 guys and still ready my team. Lol
I would love to see a major tournament that started with each race competing against each other and then the top 3 of each compete for the final cup - this would force coaches to pick the race they are best at and make for an interesting final push for the win rather than coaches picking the best overall race which kills diversity IMO.

There is a league that is exactly what you are saying, I'm struggling to remember the name... I think the Ulthuan Cup or something like that was the 'good guy' side then there was a bad guy side. There is a minor bracket where, for example, all the dwarf players play against each other and the winner of that gets put into a bracket playing against one copy of every other race that won their minor bracket.
Also, welcome to the world of wildly inaccurate, the least sensible and most obviously not balance tested aspect of the game. Everyone is holding their breath for every errata to see it removed.

XFL was a cycle of tournaments where all the teams competed against others the same roster, and the winners of the qualifiers battled it out in the XFL Masters

@ Carthage: I'm hoping maybe they can negate the backwards motions of 'wildly inaccurate', at the very least, or maybe half the dice roll for distance?

My preferred fix would be to use the throw in template where the throwing player picks an cardinal direction and does the same wildly inaccurate but using the D6 throw in rules instead of the D8 kick off style ones.
It would at least bring punting back into the realm of possibility and make diving catch not a complete meme of a choice.

Welcome back NerdBird! Imo diversity is better than ever, thanks to the black box Trophy. Asking for more when you played 14/16 games as dwarves yourself seems wild.

@Rawlf - out of the 655 games I have played on Fumbbl, 252 are with High Elves and 244 are with Dwarfs. Those are the teams I enjoy playing.
