Old Inside and Hella Grumpy!
So, the new rules are out there.

This was received with the usual composed and thoughtful reaction in our community, as the forums clearly show.

Now, I'll be straightforward about it: I LOVE the new rules.
It's not that I think they're great or something. In fact, the rules don't even matter.

What I LOVE about the new rules is the fact that they're NEW.
This makes CRP the OLD rules.
This makes me an OLD PLAYER. And I just love it. Being old is what really reflects my inner self.

Now, being OLD, I also get the privilege of being GRUMPY!

I already picture myself schooling the new kids, always grumbling about how the new (and therefore silly) rules made things so much worse. I will get to use the beloved sentence "back in my days"! As in "Back in my days a man was a man, and a goat was a clawpomber!".

Opposed to "My days" will be "these days" which obviously suck compared to my days!
I compare them to question the manliness of newcomers because the new, silly rules make their life so much easier than it was back in my day! Back when a man was a man and a goat was a clawpomber! "You call that a man THESE DAYS?Back in MY days you weren't a man until you killed a clawpomb st6 legend!"

I will be able to commentate monster elf teams with gems like "This bunch of morons wouldn't have lasted a game back in my day. It took REAL MEN to play elves back then. With all the Piling On, and Spiralling expenses... but what would you know?"

When I'll see developed dorfs I will rant, disgusted "Back in MY day, Dorfs were Tin Cans! And when you popped them, 2 spps dropped out of 'em!"

I'm working on some catchphrases already, such as:

"When did Blood Bowl become Ballet Bowl for god's sake!"
"Them fools! They took the blood straight out of this game! And replaced it with Expensive MoXXXXXXing Mistakes!"
"Do you even know what a 56% removal chance is? Of course you don't, you sissy! Now get back to that pillowfight you call 'Blood Bowl'! Pffft."
"Argue the call! Yeah, now that should keep that killer from Piling O...h wait, this ain't blood bowl anymore rite?"
"Fend???? Seriously?!?!? This must be grandfathered..."

And so on, I'm very open to suggestions!

Looking forward to it.
Amazing times of inner oldness and gratuitous grumpytude await us - or me at the very least!

In my day, they hit you with Razor Sharp Claws and Mighty Blow (after Piling On with Claw for +7 to armour rolls, so 2+ to break armour, LOL), which was +3 on the injury roll, on a table where a 12 was death. So 9+? Dead. 28% kill. 56% cas. 83% removal.

And if by chance you were still on the pitch after that, they could +2/+2 Dirty Player you, though that only killed you on a 10+, so really wasn't half as dangerous as a proper killer, just a bit easier for everyone to get.

CPOMB? Don't get me wrong, it was a great skill combo, but in my day Chaos teams used to get mean.

Yeah! Those were the days right?

Not like these days' old grumpy men wannabees thinking a clawpomber is a killer! Pfft don't even get me started on those CRP hippy spoiled kids!

(Nevermind I only played maybe 5 games in LRB4 and 20 in 3rd Edition, I'm OLD, I'm allowed to -willingly- forget stuff!)

I come from a land before the journeymen existed, where mng counted towards the teamvalue, and nigg players had to roll to see if their injury let them play or they should sit the game out.

Those where the days.. Playing WE in those days as I did. I must have been mental... I like the CRP-rules, and the new rules doesn't look too bad either, but I still belong in the grumpy old guy section. :)

@SpecialOne: yeah, I remember those early LRB-versions aswell. playing WE meant replacing the the whole team after a few bashy matches...

unless you've made a 'cool' roll to do something, you're a noob.

In the old days I hardly ever smile about the never ending blog or forum entry, all so spammed with CPOMB issues and whinning becuase of that.

Now I so much enjoy the time in which people argue about nerfing tackle to spamm flower eating elfs still more. The greatest chance of killing an elf is by snaking the odd gfi.

Hillarious!
(and the blog entry all together)

Pillow Bowl. Next, they'll replace the chainsaws with feather dusters ... ;)

As a child of CRP I guess that now makes me a grumpy teenager of BB2016. I hate you all! Now where are the alcopops...

Back in my days, we could hire star players.

Thrice.
