KILL ALL MENZ is quite efficient...

18 fouls
3 yellow cards
...and less ball possession.

Netherlands is the new Khemri

Too bad that CRP Khemri doesn't foul a lot.
Posted by Favalessa on 2014-06-14 14:24:37
Khemri need 3 matches to score 5 times...
Finally the "doped team" ends its days...
Posted by JimmyFantastic on 2014-06-14 14:31:09
Yeah it's more like 2 stat freak WDs.
Posted by duruk on 2014-06-14 15:25:15
it is certainly better and less boring than PASS ALL BALLS (in terms of football that is)
man was it a joy to watch :D
Posted by Jim_Fear on 2014-06-14 16:10:34
The ball possession is really what hurts. Spain controlled the ball longer, but the Netherlands only needed a minute to score.
Posted by WhatBall on 2014-06-14 16:11:43
Too bad Spain loaded up on useless skills like DIVING catch, DIVING tackle, and DIVING dive. I think they also took Pass Block too, but we know that is also bugged.

It was beautiful to watch.

You win by scoring goals, not keeping the ball for a higher percentage :P

In Blood Bowl stalling is an example of a winning strategy that involves keeping the ball for a higher percentage.
Posted by JimmyFantastic on 2014-06-14 17:17:10
And yet still those teams can lose to turnovers and ots :)

Everything is life can be explained with a Blood Bowl metaphor.

Great joy to watch it but also awoke a dreadful nightmare of Spain winning an epic World Cup after such an abysmal tournament start. They have not conceded a goal in all of their KO games in last three tourneys (2 euro 1 world cup) and they always seem to come to form when it matters.

haha spain. we hate your boring style of play, football wins this time!
Posted by the_Sage on 2014-06-14 19:23:41
If you watched the game, you'll realize that the # of fouls/cards was in large part due to the Italian guy. In fact, I'd say the penalty resulting in Spain's only TD (ok, ok, goal) was a ref's error.
(disclaimer: I may be slightly biased, being Dutch)
Posted by cdassak on 2014-06-14 20:27:07
The penalty is more 'earned' by Diego Costa than committed by the defender but a right call.
Posted by Winni on 2014-06-14 22:38:22
Huh how can it be a right call? The spaniard stepped on the defenders leg and fell down. How can that possibly be a foul?

Not blaming the ref for the call too much tho, since it all happened very fast and it really looked like a foul when i saw it in real time (however, the ref was really close so he could/should have seen it). There were worse ref calls in the tournament so far. :)

It amazes me that they don't have a video-ref system. Like: Hmm, I dunno, let's ask the MILLION cameras pointed at the event.
