You rolled a whole bunch of 6's there. Could have easily turned into you reinforcing their position of you as a scapegoat. Very happy that didn't happen dude :D

Hard work and integrity, brother -- either way you win. Glad it turned out for the best.

Well, just remember ... You always meet twice, so be careful!

Cheers guys nuffle blessed me and I am very grateful
@ Dezigma my German colleagues already told me this today ``Man trifft sich zweimal im Leben`` but they interpreted that this was my second chance and the tables have been turned on the big boss. Do not worry I am not taking it for granted I am going to let this go, it is not worth holding a grudge .

It is probably inevitable, unfortunately that is the nature of the beast. But 1st he will need to regrow his balls and there are lots of far more easier targets than me.

If I were you, I'd fully expect your boss to still try and blame it on you with HIS boss...

Just keep in mind anything said word of mouth is nonbinding. Any accusations and any "promises" need to be in writing. but yes, if you get that sweetener in your bonus, that means they want you around.

Pile on. Before it gets nerfed.

Yeah, looks like you rolled a perfect defence, but its still only the first turn of the drive...
ie after their past behaviour I suspect you would be wise not to be too trusting of your bosses in future

Sounds like you did a great job in the Monday morning face off.

Glad to hear you got away and can even feel as the winner of this showdown. Maybe justice prevailed this time. However, it could easily have totally backfired, might even have cost you the job.

Cheers guys for all the positive messages and with the warnings not to get cocky to make sure I keep grounded.
Fingers crossed I do not get stitched up again... I will remain cautious and it has encouraged me to consider my options and see what else is out there.
On another positive note I seemed to have gained the admiration of some lovely ladies at work, must be the danger ;) Shame I am married with kids.... : O

Correct German phrase is "Man trifft sich im Lebeen zweimal" ... Guess I should have took the American one ...
TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN!
