The Prayers mostly suck. When people are 50 TV underdog they buy a keg due to that reason.
Players on the pitch, not Prayers.
With players you can actively play the game and try stuff, rather than just watching your opponent stalling for 8 turns.
A game is supposed to be played by 2 people, if just one of them can play it then it's a solitaire. |

Yeah prayers suck.
Also the problem isn't half time or end of drive. The attrition issue is mid drive |

You can have 1000 reserves but you can't replace players during the drive, that's the issue.
I play with 14 or 15 Elves, but they get removed too fast for the reserves to matter.
This is why I stopped defending with Elves, especially at mid-high TV is futile. |

I don't see where is the issue. |

I find that not tilting in a real life game is quite easy: you just have to think "I just want to have a good time with another player".
I know some people have a too much competitive mindset (though I never encountered one for now)... But I find it weird if TWO people just planned, days or weeks ago, a 3 hours long game but one of this guy just thinks "hey, my purpose isn't for the other guy to have fun, I just want to achieve victory so I will tilt and whine if the odds aren't in my favor." though it's fine to be a bit irritated if you lose some good players, but tilting till the end of the game will only make you AND your opponent more and more irritated. I guess, in the end, it's just a question of whether you think of your opponent or not.
Personally, 4 months ago I played a very bad game for me. I played Underworld against Nurgle. The game starts, I receive the ball and my thrower just happens to have very slippery fingers since he fails his attempts to pickup the ball two rounds in a row (4 dice throws since he has sure hands). It puts me in a very bad position, my ROgre with 1 skill is knocked down, armor breaks, injury is 10+, casualty is 16, I use an apothecary, 16 again. 2 or 3 turns after that my gutter runner with 2 skills is knocked down, armor breaks, injury is 10+, casualty is 16... And I simply laughed because I didn't want to leave a bad impression on my opponent who was a nice guy.
I think the better way to fix tilting is simply to think "I don't want somebody else to have a bad day" |

Not sure to have understood the conclusion.
I think that like poker fumbbl is a competitive game where control of emotion is a key aspect of playing well (not saying to win but at least to play well). Whenever there are some odds in game.
So a tilt management is important. If you play just for fun (for instance i try to kill as many players i can with my goblins and i dont'care about the score too much) ok maybe you tilt less.
And in general a control of emotion can also help in the unfortunate case you described. I remember a tournament match vs 2 Megastars/Legend one with Black Orcs the other with Underworld:1-1 overtime, both without rerolls. The underworld team is destroied only Gutter Blodge SideStep StripBall 2 Head is in the pitchm and Black Orc has something like 6 players. he get the ball, cage and move to the touchdown. UW coach started this typical whining mode most of us did at least one time when they think to have clearly lose a game the so called "early GG". Then at the end the gutter tried a blitz -3D where push back push back POW and the goblin lost the ball. The turn after he was not able to pick up , no rr --> penalties and the UW won.
so another way to not to tilt is "i want to try to play well without big mistakes , if i am unfortunate and i lose for dice ok no problem but at least i am happy because i did my best"
People who do not have tilt control usually concede and ragequit games where they roll awfull dice. |

I'm just saying that a good way to control your emotions is not to think primarily of winning or losing but to think "I don't want to mess with the mood or to be annoying to my opponent".
For example, I find it easier to tilt with computer games since you're not in the same room as your opponents so it's harder to empathize with them, it's easier to get away with being rude and also, the worst you can do to your opponents is a minor inconvenience that will last in most case 5 or 10 minutes.
For Blood Bowl (and other lengthy boardgames), you ask for someone to be free for 3 or 4 hours, if you're tilting during the match, you can be annoying for a couple hours... And it can be a real pain in the arse... So yeah, just try to be fair to your opponent and you'll be less inclined to tilting.
I don't think that playing better will lead to less tilt though... I think that understanding the game better will lead to less tilt. Well OK, in most case, understanding the game better will lead to playing better but I think there's some situations in BB where you can play "badly" (meaning you play against the odds with dangerous dice throws) cannot lead to frustration and tilting but can also make you win or at least make a draw happens (which is considered a "half-win" in BB). |

WHat you propose in my opinion is possible in a League
Here just an example where i tilted
https://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=4583608
i totally lose control of my drive, tilt in the sense i did some emotional action (like fouling) without thinking to the game
In a League usually you speak with your opponent and people are nice so even in a very bad game like this people "usually" speak chat and compensate
But in Competitive division (black box expecially or some minor/mahjor tournament) coach do not care a lot about the opponent.
I learned not to expect all coach to be friend in a chat. So in this case i can search to find - in absence of nice chat and in case dice are bad and i am going to lose a game - to try to play correctly the game
It is not easy for a 1 hour game when you destroyed your offensive drive is very hard to recover in this case is difficult to mantain calm.
And I agree with you: tilting can have effect for several hours after the match.
Everybody should avoid tilting. in general . in game. In life. |

Yeah, I agree, it's easier to do in a "real life" environment or in a virtual environment but with someone you know. |
