Why don't the match reports...
...include the rosters played with? It's just a bit of text, so shouldn't be a burden.

EDIT: just to clarify - without using the 'replay', which doesn't give you access to the rosters anyway but does have the information in there somewhere.

Roster = skills
That table is just the results. The links go to the 'current' player. So you can't see exactly what the team was at the time.

If I was going to store the roster as it was prior to the game, it wouldn't be stored as a blob of text. Taking the time to store that is something I'd do to allow things like statistical analysis. A simple copy of a HTML wouldn't cut it. Neither would a proper storage of the site roster, since there are things added to the teams during the pre-match sequence (inducements).
"Just a bit of text" is a massive oversimplification of the problem.
It's not impossible to add, but it's not trivial either.

Just storing the HTML is a simple middle ground. I think being able to see - at a glance - the rosters used for a game, that really enhances the match reports considerably and very little implementation.
You are right, there is a utopia where it is implemented in a way that gives access to statistical analysis. However, is the gain worth the implementation effort? Arguably not. Also is it going to happen any time soon? Likely not due to the effort involved.
Thus one solution is pragmatic and you gain a big feature for little resource/effort.
The other solution is an ideal but requires a much bigger effort and far more resources by yourself/fumbbl.

As a starter, I would like to see the number of KOs added to the stats. The CAS line does not tell the real story right now.

These things you guys are talking about are what the "Edit Match Report" function at the bottom of the page is for.
e.g.
"The amount of ClawPOMB my opponent had was only part of the reason I gave up before the game was done. The other reason I said "gg" after turn 5 in the first half was because I didn't get any of my 5 KO's back. Piss-moan-piss-moan-piss-moan..."

true, but you can kinda infer some of what happened by number of turns played for each player

Jeffro, that's just not adequate for the roster, and you know it. Yes, I agree that for match statistics (KOs, skulls, snakes etc) that it is the perfect place for it, but to see what the rosters were? Writing a match report is a very poor substitute for that.
