Pipin is dead!
The baddest, the strongest fling that ever step foot on a Blood Bowl pitch is now dead. Yes, I'm talking about Pipin Piethrower.
Most blocks all time (for a fling), most casualties ever. He was a beast. He was a real blood bowl player. His only reason to play was to destroy his opponent. And the stronger, the better. Even my ST4 fling was a dwarf in comparison (yeah, I know, I'm a pixel huger).
Pipin was killed by a chainsaw maniac. The flings will definitely destroy the gobos from now on. Yet, that was an honorable death. It took an illegal weapon to get rid of him.
Farewell, Pipin, you'll be remembered - at least in the top list.

@ the_sage: the #2 all-time fling only has 25 Cas. Yeah, the standards ain't that high for flings, but Pipin was rising the bar quite fast. I'm just sad he didn't raise it so high that catching him would be almost impossible. :D
And no I won't retire, even though I yet have to play another game since his death. However, rumours say after the riots in the Moot following his death, some infamous fans of his may create a team as a tribute to Pipin. The little dudes found a very nasty way of fighting during bar fights - something they call "piling on" - and they intend to use it on a Blood Bawl pitch. Will they really make a team? Time will tell...

He's a monster but... Pipin was the star. Not because of his records, but because of the way he played (or was played). I can't remember how many times Pipin was tossed in the air to blitz the ball carrier (sometimes -2d) and save or win games. Or how often I put him on the LoS. He wasn't soft, I wasn't soft with him either. Best way to play stunties IMO.
