Can't seem to win my bashy games...
17 games since successful with bash (not counting stunty).
I must be doing something wrong, hmmm. I was so glad when I finally learned how to cage properly and now it seems they all get popped. Need more practice! :D

The pro elf games seems to go better for some reason. :P

Learn to stall. Caging isnt enough you have to be able to hold off scoring till t8 that way the opponent cant get an equliser in before the half.

Bashing is more about positioning than anything else, something Elf teams don't need to worry about that much.

Make a dwarf team and you'll see what I mean. :)

also

Pro Elves are awesome.

Is it because your too busy looking for the +2Spp's and not actually thinking "ball first" :-P

The last loss happened against my Ironfists (cd). Your team's main problem in this game was being outnumbered almost right from the start and during the whole match. Nuffle was with me, no doubt about that. In my view there's not so much you could have done different - except maybe that you should have paid more attention to the chainsaw that badly hurt 2 players rather quickly.

yeah, I really need to learn my positioning and chainpushing. I'll practice on khemri.

As said already...

You gotta be able to stall. You gave him a free 1st half TD for no reason.

Defend the ball instead of bashing and hoping.

Don't get into toe to toe bashing battles with teams that are better bashers than you.

If you are out bashed ag3 can dodge.

then you're just not good with slow bashy teams. stick to the swift ones.

I find I'm the same way. I lose a lot with orcs.

and stalling is for losers. you're just giving your opponent a chance to steal away the ball and the game. Only stall if there's 0 chance of this and the score is tied.

thats because pro elves are one of the very best teams in the game, lots of people dont seem to think so because of all that av7 but with elves av isnt all that anyway :)

oh also Chaos and Nurgle are really terrible starter races, as bad as Ogres, underworld flings and gobos imo. Possibly worse than some of them.

if you want a good bash team try dwarves or orcs :)

I quite satisfied with the HUBBA record, but the team never seems to skill up :P
Posted by Badoek on 2013-05-24 14:48:03
Ah yes, I don't mind losing much but the lack of skill ups is annoying. Part of the fun of course.

3 things pop to my mind:

1) "then you're just not good with slow bashy teams. stick to the swift ones.

I find I'm the same way. I lose a lot with orcs.

and stalling is for losers. you're just giving your opponent a chance to steal away the ball and the game. Only stall if there's 0 chance of this and the score is tied." - arktoris - this might be one of the less intelligent comments i have read. the idea that "you are just not good with slow teams and should therefore not play them" is completelly beyond me.

2) stalling, positioning, ag3 dodges - all of those things mentioned are completelly correct and i believe they can be summed up in: develop a gameplan! because you are chaos, doesnt mean you necessarily are the biggest basher in each game, find out what your strengths are and what the weaknesses, vs each opponent anew. only when you know what you want can you actually apply the things - this sounds much more trivial than it is in my eyes.

3)try out some different races and make the transition to bashers easier. when you are good at proelves, try skaven and cd.
skaven allready bring some hitting power and makes you better at judging when to dodge and when not, and CD are an overall good team that is not as punishing with bad positioning as for example dorfs, as CD still possess solid speed.

I usually do have a gameplan, but i guess it fails because i want to maximize bash and then think of the ball. I should try to think ball first.
Also i like chaosbecause they all blitz st 4 and are not that slow, at least not the goats.
