I have now installed the client, signed up, created a team, and had a match. My only complaint so far is this: I really like what I've read of LRB 5, and I really don't want to play LRB 4.
I was introduced to BB at Cerebral Hobbies in Chapel Hill. It was probably ten years ago or so, before the LRBs started. We had the base set, and Death Zone, and that was it.
I've enjoyed the idea of a structured league, but any attempts to start ones in the area have always failed before the first tournament was over. I'd love to have a regular season, a tournament, and then coach a team through a second regular season. We'll see what I get to do here.
I would like to thank
aerofool for the first match. I played my nascent human team
VJ Governors against his clearly toned-down undead team,
Slow Start. It was a
3-1 victory, but not much to celebrate. aerofool admits that Slow Start is something of a team management experiment for him. If you watch the replay, you can see that I really should've been able to stop his only score. I was simply too rusty and made too many single-bit mistakes.
The Governors did very well, and I would like to mention
Governor Spaight's performance. He scored twice, rushing for 21 tiles.
Governor Caswell scored as well on a turn-over.
I don't know how to train a human team. I tend to prefer Skaven and Orcs, both of which have very clear paths. Humans have the ability to play a passing or running game, but I think I'm going to keep things simple and just train them for skirmishing. For this reason, Governor Spaight has picked up Block.
