The real problem with FUMBBL...
Is that I've got a pile of miniatures to paint, but whenever I think I should really get some painting done, I then think, actually, I'd rather just have a game of Blood Bowl, and so I haven't painted a single thing since joining. Darn it, FUMBBL's just too good...

in my case I haven't even looked at my figures since I joined. something like 8 years of dust.....

Second edition elves, skaven and dwarfs plus a ton of paints just sitting in my cupboard... Of course, it isn't just fumbbl, being the father of a two year old means those figures may be in the safest place.

Simple fix... sign up for a tournament, go and play with your embarrassingly underpainted minis then see how quick you start painting again!!

I never really got into the painting. My mate who I used to play tabletop with whan I was a kid did - really good painter. I won more of the games which meant his fantastic minitures invariably had a dreadful record against my unpainted cr*p. Terrible shame that ;)

That may also be a part of the problem; I'm not a huge fan of painting myself, I much prefer converting minis, but no-one appreciates a nice conversion unless it's nicely painted, so I had to learn how to paint reasonably nicely, although still excruciatingly slowly. And the tournament idea would work, except a) I'd never play with unpainted minis, ever, and b) my team are already painted, as you can blurrily see in my previous blog (reminds me I still need to pick up that camera I was going to borrow). Most of the stuff I have to paint is either for other people or other games.

Oh, and I also have a dreadful record in most games, with the exception of BB. Or at least that was the case til I joined FUMBBL. Damn high-quality-playing swine...

Me too, I have CDs and 'flings looking sadly at me from the library shelves... unpainted and waiting...
Maybe the problem is I haven't played tabletop at all lately...

Some people suggested a fast way to paint minis could be done with airbrush... but I haven't tried yet
