Chaos are so NAF
After a lot of umming and ahhing, I finally just signed up for the NAF championships.

It's a 1,050k starting roster; I'm using Chaos and going with 3 CWs, 7 goats, a mino and 3 rr.

The tricky part, however, is the skills package. Before each of your 6 games, you get to add one normal skill to a player, but no stacking. I suspect this is part of the reason why I'm the only person (of those so far declared) using Chaos, of about 140 attendees. Obviously there'll be some allowance for what team I'm facing, what skills they have, etc., but I'd like to have some idea of what I'm going to do before I get there.

So, I figured this was a good place to ask: what would you take?

Beer! The GT is about fun first; tis a lottery thereafter.

I see much Block in your future, other than that. ;)

Chaos? You sir are insane... I like the cut of your jib.

Some good tournament skills (says the man who took high elves last year and was playing on the bottom table for 3 rounds...) are block, wrestle, sure hands, and guard. As chaos, you get none of them to start, so you are royally pooped. But one good thing - you get to see your opponent's race/previous roster before choosing your skill. But yeah, as the Goo says, block is probably a safe bet.

You could just go claw/MB/PO on everyone and aim for most casualties... though you'll still be struggling with that goal.

Yeah, it will be hard - glad you are doing it!

Remember you get to see your opponent first.

1) Claw on the mino will help a lot against orcs, dwarves and lizardmen.
2) Block is simple and effective.
3) Guard is not bad on the CW's.
4) It might be worth Sure Hands if you end up facing a leap/sb wardancer.
5) If you have nothing else, taking a block beastman first skill is a good idea. It gives you your safe blitzer immediately.

I'd probably look for by game 6:
Claw mino,
2x Guard CWs
Block Beastman
Sure Hands beastman
? Block beastman?

Excellent news that you're coming along mate.
You could just go full mutations...

Would be an interesting journey.

Goo is right Beer! Then the only problem you have to worry about is the hangover for your 3 games on the Sunday xD

Deffo take claw on the mino if your set on taking him. after that lots of block

I'd do a wrestle over block beastman since you'll have no tackle and may see a blodge ball carrier.

For real laughs just take damge skills and hope, since taking Chaos at low TV is not optimum anyways.

Hito makes tons of sense.
Do you get to see your first oppo before picking your first skill?
Because sure hands beast (if woodies), claw mino (if AV9s) and block goat (if anything else) sounds about right.

I assume it's swiss? You'll be aiming for some kind of 'Sunday comeback' award, where you rise the most places after taking a beating on Saturday. =D

Yup, it's Swiss, and you get to see the skills your oppo has chosen previously. So for game 2, before I pick my skill, I can see the skill they chose before game 1, but not what they are taking against me.

No-one seems to have mentioned Tackle. If I'm lucky enough to get stunties, or unlucky enough to get rats or lizzies, I'm thinking a Tackle beast is an obvious choice, no? Useful vs zons and elves too.

And fox's mutations suggestion is tempting. Less competitive, probably, but nicely fluffy. And the minis in my team have a fair few mutations. There's a Lewdgrip: CW with Tents, maybe FA. Dorjak Sureclaw: CW with VLL, Claw, and a (slightly) Big Hand, and Galmen Goreblade: CW with FA, maybe? Plus a Slarga Foulstrike: beast with XArms, and an old WFB beast with a Claw...

Goo...you LIE!!!

I have never seen depression truely before until I had seen you draw your first game in the tourney and then declare the whole weekend a disaster. Dont deny it!!!
