Amanar Archivists
For ages Amanar the Sea Dragon has been the guardian of Lothern, the greatest sea port of Ulthuan. Every year a ceremony is organized on mid-summer's eve, to thank Amanar for his protection. At the peak of the "Great Arousal Ritual", as the ceremony is often called, deep drumming sounds eventually awaken Amanar from his slumber, deep under the waves. As a sign of acknowledgement, the sea serpent would then stir briefly and show its tail above the waves before returning to sleep, much to the satisfaction of all Lothern.

Alas, for three consecutive summers now, Amanar did not show himself during the Great Arousal Ceremony. This phenomenon has rised a lot of questions and concern among the population of Lothern. Gossip has it that the great sea dragon has abandoned Lothern, but for whom and for what, no one knows. The merchant guild, fearing that their trade routes will now remain unprotected, has called for an investigation of the matter to find out what has happened.

Lyndon the Seafarer, an experienced trader and former captain of the Lothern Sea Guard, has shown interest in the affair. He decided to set off to explore the seven seas of the world for any sign of Amanar. After all, he can't have just vanished! All traces will be carefully recorded in his archive. Realizing that he can't do this job alone and understanding that the investigation requires guile and cover, he has developed a cunning plan. But he can't openly conduct his research, as the risk of the world discovering that Lothern is no longer protected by its dreaded sea dragon is just too great!

That is why Lyndon has recruited a team of young, ambitious and carefree elves around him. Recently he had heard rumours of a new sport called blood bowl being practiced in the Old World and beyond. What better disguise for his investigation than roaming the world as a blood bowl coach? Not much later the Amanar Archivists were born!
