Im doing this because cancer has kicked my family in the teeth. My mum has had cancer TWICE....skin cancer (tumor in her neck and on her chest) and ovarian cancer. Thankfully she got through it both times.
I lost my cousin 2 years ago, Shawn Spencer to stomach cancer. He was 37
My uncle, Jim Wilson, died of Lung cancer 12 years ago
Another uncle, Mick Spencer, was diagnosed with cancer in his mouth. He survived thankfully.
Another uncle (I have a lot of uncles/aunties) Les Spencer was diagnosed with cancer in his knob. As if it's not bad enough getting cancer, you get it in your old fella! Thankfully he survived.
I watched a childhood friend of mine get buried this June after losing a fight with breast cancer. Nicky baker was 37.

15 years ago if someone had mentioned cancer to me I would have sympathised but not given it that much thought. As you can imagine now it's quite different.
