I hated him at the time but looking back on it, he was pretty good at what he did.

I to grew up watching those guys and this guy was amazing and outstanding in his time, a true legend for any wrestling fan of the 90's and beyond. A loss to entertainment, watch some of his promo stuff it's way out there and brilliant.
May his warrior spirit live on.

I agree, Calcium. I watched all those same guys through the same time period. Ultimate Warrior was my favorite wrestler during that time period. This is sad news, but it is comforting that he seemed at peace with the idea that his time was nearly up.

I was talking about this with my brother today. Really sad for us too. A major icon for us as we were growing up.

Shocker; another 'roid user dies young. Blows my mind. (rolls eyes)
Studio wrestling is not real decent entertainment. I actually wrestled throughout my youth and most of us found this "entertainment" to be quite appalling....

I liked him too. Terrible wrestler, great entertainer. RIP.
For those that follow, I'd ignore the above post. My guess is there's a lot more to that than meets the eye.

I still remember him beating the Honky Tonk Man in something like 17 seconds for the Intercontinental Belt. This is way sad... but I'm almost kinda surprised he lived this long. The man was a comet.

I remember that match. If you rewatch it, Honky was facing the wrong way (or more likely Warrior set off in the wrong direction to do his splash). So if you watch Honky he kinda shuffles around 90 degrees so that Warrior can splash him correctly!
Honky was the favourite wrestler of a real life friend of mine, who sadly past away with a heart condition.

My 16 year old wrestling fanatic of a son told me yesterday. I seriously thought he died 6 years ago. I was more surprised he was still alive to this point. Im also surprised he was that young.
A little tid bit of UW. My Best friend growing up was a huge Ultimate warrior fan. He used to brag all the time that he had his Autograph. UW used to play football for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFFL (where my buddy lived for a time.) He had a football signed by the whole team, including UW. When he retired he went straight into the WWF. I believe he was a linebacker. Anyways I have fond childhood memories staying up late and watching Saturdays Main event.
