Faction
I have been playing in factions for some time now, and would like to say a few things about it. Mostly I would just like to get more people interested in it. To make it easier to read I have decided to put it in a dialogue form of questions and answers.

Q: I've tried reading through the rules, but all the numbers and math confuses me?

A: It is really simple, honest. The system is designed to encourage people to play their scoring games in F1-F3, because you get points even from losing games. If you lose a game by 1 goal you still get 5 points. It may not sound much compared to over 30 for a win, but activity can make the difference between teams that have won the same amount of games.

Q: Okay I started a team and I'm in this Q division. What's up with that?

A: The Qualifier division is pretty much similar to Ranked, in that it is an open environment without the limits on who you can play. So just get fun games that are likely to give good winnings and build your team. Because teams get promoted to F3 based on their Team Rating, and having played at least 4 games that round.

Q: Hooray, my badass team has managed to get into F3, do I get medals now?

A: No, you must still learn patience young padawan. They are only awarded to the top 3 teams in the F1 each round. For now the goal is to get promoted again and not fall back into what you can now call "the shameful mud division". Now you have a list of 10 teams with a capital S next to them, I would suggest that you try to get games with as many of them as possible.

Q: But coach Stonetroll, some of these teams I have against me are really mean and bashy. Should I really play everyone?

A: I would say that you use your own judgement. It is okay not to play everyone if the match is completely unfair, but you must understand that now the situation is no longer open as in Ranked. Some of the matchups may not be entirely fair anymore, but you will gain the respect of your competitors if you play them anyway. And they might return the favour if you happen to get lucky enough to find yourself in an advantageous matchup.

Q: Hey, now I get it. I checked your team and you're only writing this because nobody will play your stupid basher chaos. You're almost as bad as people who coach dwarves and whine about not getting games!

A: Hah, your googling powers are impressive, my apprentice. However I am not trying to turn faction into an basher division. Turn your attention to the F1 and you will find that the team that has most gold medals is indeed a wood elf, one that usually tries to play all 10 games. Sure elves die a lot, but they are also easiest to skill up. At the moment there is a nice mix of different playstyles up there.

Q: Earlier on you were talking about the respect of fellow coaches. I don't want no such thing but to see their teams crushed under the spiked boots of my dirty players

A: Indeed, the thing that has attracted me most is the continuous competition and rivalries/friendships among the people I get to play again and again. It is a thing usually found only in League play. Although I like nothing more that see some bloated superstar get his/her due, excessive team killing might make people avoid playing you. Opposed to being a chatty coach and trying to have a good time might have the adverse effect.

Q: I gotta go, some fools flings just challenged my chaos dwarfs up TR in Ranked. I need to go inflate my CR, I suppose this doesn't happen in Faction?

A: There is hope for you yet.
