Back Home
USS Voyager
Captain's Log, stardate 55652.3.

Day 59 of our stay on the planet we've named 'Old Earth'. We finally accepted that this must be our home planet, even though it's completely different from every memory we had of it. We are in the Sol system, there's no doubt about it. Our theories diverge, but we all agree that when we traveled through the transwarp corridor, we must have also traveled through time, or to some sort of parallel universe.

Anyway, this 'Old Earth' is indeed a weird place. Humans inhabit the planet, but other races live here, too. It looks strikingly similar to some of those ancient 'fantasy' sagas.

There seems to be Vulcans, too, but they are called 'elves' and their culture is different from the one we know, but some of their characteristics remain unchanged.

The instumentation aboard the Voyager shows the clear presence of some kind of ancient technology on the planet: the locals call it "winds of magic", and it seems to be linked with a transwarp corridor located somewhere in the northern regions of the planet.

However, the first directive is still valid, so we had to desguise ourselves amongst the locals. We opted to pose as elves - fake ears and all - to excuse our ignorance of local customs. The positive side is that Tuvok doesn't need much make-up, if at all, but B'elanna had to cover her forehead.

We contacted a native 'magician', a very savy man by the name of Luthor Drachen. His workshop reminded me of the Leonardo study in the holodesk, and I've taken a liking on him. He's our only hope to get back home and not be stuck in this weird world for the rest of our lives. He agreed to help us, but said we needed to help him back with an experiment of his.

He said he will take on the very hard and dangerous task, only if we succeed in one of our own. He wants us to participate and win a major tournament of a local sport, 'pigskin' he calls it, although most people just call it 'Blood Bowl'.
It's a brutal, bloody, barbaric version of former earthly sports such as those known as 'Rugby' or 'American Football". He said elves are best at the game, seems like our desguise fired back at us.

Although recluctantly, we had no choice but to agree.

Meister Drachen even offered us the help of a local 'Treeman', a sensient, moving tree. A fascinating specie: we immediatly grew fond of its wise insights, so we agreed and welcomed 'Quercia' to our crew.

We spent days training in the holodesk. We're ready. I used to see it as nothing more than a brutal display of violence, but with time I've grown fond of the game. Dare I say I feel excited at the idea of finally stepping on a real pitch?

Tonight we will be playing our debut match, against an elven team, full of lowlives with Cloak and dagger. It will be at 1 am.

The Voyager Crew is ready for this new adventure!

We can't wait to play, to win our chance to get back to our loved earth, but I know, in the moment we'll step on the field, it will feel like we're already... back home!

Somewhere there should be a Borg Cube in your sector. I hope for your assimilations.
