Khemries blog: Comment on Plasmoid House Rules
Plasmoid house rules, most important for Khemries
Roster
Tomb Guardians
  1. AV8 instead AV9+Decay (1)
    Break Tackle for +10k (2)

Blitz-Ra
  1. Gets Thick Skull (3)

Thro-Ra
  1. Gets Thick Skull (4)

Skill
  1. Claws: Armour roll of 8 or more before modifications automatically breaks armour (5)

Rules
  1. A generic +1 modifier applies to the Armour roll when fouling (6)

Inducements
  1. Wizard: The cost of hiring a wizard is increased to 200K (7)

1) I don't like it. It's a nerf, not a buff. Decay does not affect team performance during the match, it only affect long term team development. Just remove Decay, and leave 9AV.
P.S. did you noticed that B-ras with AV8+TS become more resistant than TGs with AV8?
2) Break Tackle for +10k is ridiculous buff. I take BT as 2rd-4th skill, and believe me, 2x TG with BT are very strong on defense. All TGs with BT and empty skill slot would be insanely strong.
3) Yes, B-Ras are overpriced. -10k, or +TS sounds reasonable.
4) Maybe. But not nessesary. I don't mind ball carier being least resistant player on the team.
5) Great change for high armor team without claws.
6) Great change for all foulers.
7) Good change, and here is why. Short version: Wizard for 150k is OP.
Long version: Wizard is very powerful vs Khemries. Standart Khemries team has one ball carier with AV7. If lightning bolt stuns him, it's a big trouble. If KO or worse - time to pray to Nuffle. And tournaments are the worst. On one hand, Khemries must have 13-14 players and lots of skills on positionals to survive 2k+ TV Chaos/Nurgles/CDs. O the other hand, high TV gives agility teams wizard, babes and extra apos... No win situation.

Ideas about inducements

Igor: needs a buff. It's worst 100k inducement. Change suggestion: Can be used before regen roll on BH result(s). Regen is automatically sucessfull.

Babes: 1 babe for 50k is ok. 2x babes for 100k is too powerful. Really. Change suggestion: 50k for babe and +1 KO roll; 150k for babes squad and +2 KO roll.

yup break tackle on the TGs is stupid
Posted by Roland on 2014-07-08 20:18:28
I like it though.
It makes them different and encourages different builds.

They're hardly Khemri anymore. The trick for CRP Khemri is precise positioning (a lost art). You must get it right the first time, because you won't be dodging around. It's tough but do-able, to keep this house of cards upright. AV9 is important in this effort - lose a Guardian and your job is twice as hard.

Anyways... What exactly is the problem? Khemri are a really good team. Just give Blitz Ras thick skull, and remove decay. Done.

Just because some Khemri-hater had a gimmick idea 5 years ago doesn't make it good. Khemri have a place in the game and they should stay, and NTBB's version is nothing short of blasphemy.

Make a new team.

I say give the whole team thick skull, and lose decay.
Posted by Garion on 2014-07-08 21:47:04
yup we all agree on that :) thats all they need

I don't think Break tackle is that Stupid. It saves me from having to take it second or third pick. I'd leave the team the same, but give Tomb Guardians General access. The Decay will still sort them out.

I'd like:
-AV9 Tomb Guardians without Decay;
-Blitz-Ra and Thro-Ra with Thick Skull;
Wizard at 200k.

My High Elves want a permanent wizard on their roster. We can all dream.

I do remember when Khemri used to have 4 mummies.... that was great fun
Posted by the.tok on 2014-07-09 17:45:09
That is all khemri need : mummies back !
Or at least, give us a 4 mummy roster. With undead snots if you want, I don't mind, but I am very sad not to be ever again able to field 4 of my fav player. This roster was deleted altogether for me, with all the mummy-haters :'(

Hi bigGuy, thanks for your careful and constructive feedback.
I figured this would be the best place to reply.

Allow me to preface by saying that:
a)The team isn't really mine. It was playtested late in the LRB6 Development, and the players were quite surprised when one of the BBRC vetoed it.
b) It did decently, but certainly not overly well, so I'd be highly suspicious of any claims that the team would be overly powerful.

Anyway, using your numbers:
(1) You could say that it is a nerf, due to the increase in in-game injuries. I'd (lightheartedly) reply that death and permanent injuries alos have "in-game" effects, just "in" the next game(s).
AFAIK, the rate of death/permanent injury is very similar between the 2 version.
Where the AV8 version actually is a buff, is when you're facing anything that has a hightened probability of breaking armor. Like Claw (CPOMB), or fouling. And Claw is not a rare thing to meet.

Other than that, the increased rate of injury is a trade-off for Break Tackle.

(2) As stated - it's a trade-off. AV8 isn't all thrills. In playtesting it certainly didn't appear to be insanely powerful.
And while it is nice to have, their new found mobility has limits. It is still MA4 and still eats up rerolls, so the art of positioning isn't lost.

(3) Check.

(4) Check. It was for reasons of consistency. They're skillies. And overpriced.

(5+6) Yes, as a bashy side without claw you'd now be less outgunned against a bashy team _with_ claw. Stronger fouling is nice for the Khemri team, but not so nice for the AV8 Guardians.

(7) Glad you agree that the wiz is OP at 150K.

Cheers
Martin

The thing is, Decay doesn't matter at all during the single game. It doesn't reduce your ability to win. It even doesn't matter so much for team development. Only 1/3 of injuries from Decay are statdrop/dead, and you regen half of them.
Decay really hurts in 2 cases:
1) In the tournaments. 2x missing TGs is pretty much auto-loss in next game
2) When you get diced, your hardest to develop players dies just to add insult to the injury.

Even without Decay, TGs are freaking hard to develop. Just drop it.

AV9->AV8 is big nerf vs all teams. Even simple TG stun often screws positioning, not even talking about KOs or Injuries.
