Gnome Display Bug
For any FFB user running Linux you may run into the well-known JDesktopPane display bug.

In the FFB client this bug manifests as a bar at the bottom of the screen that won't go away. This bar blocks the chat box, re-roll, and apothocary counters. This is rather upsetting and puts coaches running Linux at a disadvantage. Fortunately the solution is rather simple.

First, using your Package Manager search for, and install xfce, at the time I'm writing this the package name is Xfce4.

Once the packages have downloaded and installed log out, and in the bottom area of the login screen you will see a drop-box to select your window manager. It will most likely be set to GNOME. Change the drop-down to Xfce and login normally.

That's it! The client will appear normally, and if you want to return to GNOME you can do so by logging back out and switching back.

Happy Blood Bowl!

Well done for cracking that one.

It is great that more people get to know how to work around the bug, but this is the same "fix" that have been known and suggested since it was found, right?
It is even mentioned in the FAQ.
The biggest problem have been that people have been extremely stubborn about using GNOME and not wanting to change to something else during their games.

Here I was thinking this was a stunty problem.

Re: Lakrillo

Yep, this is the same bug as on the FAQ. I just wanted to have a walk through for anyone who might be scared of changing their window manager, or who might not know what window managers will work with Ubuntu/Mint with little trouble.

Xfce is lightweight, fast, and compatible with Ubuntu, I figured I'd save someone some time and heartache.
