Needless Thread Locking
It boggles the mind why threads are locked merely because the discussion was started a while ago. Do the merits of the ideas contained therein vanish after a certain expiration point? What is the expiration date for threads? Why can't FUMBBL users be trusted to determine what threads are worthy of being discussed?

Sorta matches the needless thread necro though doesn't it ??

It usually revolves around the concept that a thread that is 7 years old probally has been discussed nuemerous times since then. And since I for one have no clue how to use the forum search function I just look for headings that seem to fit.

Thus IMO some admins feel it is unnecesary to necro a 7 year thread when the same topic was discussed 2 months ago but you are to lazy to "search" and post you thoughts on the most time relavent thread.

Just my 2cents

OR it just could be some admins have not used the LOCK button in awhille and wanted to feel the thrill again.

Although I've hardly ever agreed with you Evo, I have always found that you tried to support your views.

This one is way beneath you, not to mention OLD news.

I think it's because the mods have issues with power and the abuse of it. I would be happy if there was no mods at all on fumbbl.

Everyone needs a way to polish his ego. People with some kind of power do that by making use of it. While the admins power is not limitless and he has to respond to someone for his actions, he will usually have to find some obscure reason to justfy his powertrip wich he can only outlive by getting in other poeples way. There is no real benefit for his controll trip and there doesn't have to be. The admin will however not have to justify himself to you, since you're nothing then a mere peasont. An annoying git under his shoe who can be dealt with as it pleases. Many people are very happy about this, praise them and get very angry if you say something about it because they believe that challenging an authority is only allowed if the authority sais so.

You just made my day, Wreckage.
I sprayed water all over my monitor laughing.

Indeed. It's so difficult to create a new thread and link to old stuff that it's essential to bump old threads and have people read and respond to posts from 2005, before they realize it's a "+1" bump.

Lock this blog plskthx.

No, no, no. You must not create new threads about topics that have already been discussed before.

You must learn to use the search to find an existing thread on that same topic. Read that thread but do NOT respond to it.

Do not post anything on the forum unless you are certain that it has never been said before. Ever.

Why is it that when anyone agrees with am admin's decision it HAS to be because they are ***-kissers, or never challenge authority? Can't someone just agree with the decision of someone in authority based on them actually thinking it was the right decision?

(but it seems like one admin might be a little more lock-agressive than another so maybe we don't want to paint the whole lot)
