Khemri
After playing my first match with khemri in the new ruleset I find myself wondering why this team remains at all. The decay on the mummies is fine I guess, but removing mighty blow as well makes them so unbelievably useless.

I kind of like the idea of khemri teams, so if anyone have any helpful advice on how to be able to enjoy playing them please let me know!

Just get all the tomb guardians MB, then things will be easier.

Actually, Khemri are in fairly good shape when it comes to playing against the new FOTM Chaos Claw/MB rosters.

Claw has no effect on AV7 and Thick Skull helps the little guys stay on the pitch. Add to that the fact that the linemen are cheap fouling fodder for anyone trying to Pile On and it's a combination that gets the chaos teams thinking.

Of course, this is balance by the fact that the new Tomb Guardians are beyond crap.

The only advice I can give you is learn to enjoy the occassional 2-1 or 1-0 victory. You will definitely have earned it. This team is challenging, no mistake, but that will make the wins even sweeter. And TGs aren't good for much until they get Mighty Blow. MA 4 ST 5 roadblocks, that will occassionally get a 3 die block if you commit enough assists. You will learn to treasure your Blitz-Ras early in the team's developlment. And Thro-Ras are a bit better now with MA 6.

Strangely I seem to find them a lot better than i thought they would be. I started up a Khemri team with FFB just to have a go at those ClawPomb teams, and i have only managed to find 3, however my team still seems to be able to hold it's own against a lot of teams. And i don't even have blitz-ras.

Record so far 8/6/4, not great but no means shabby either.

How to enjoy playing them? Build the team around passing!

freak_in_a_frock,

I can imagine that it's possible to keep a decent record with the thick skull on the skeletons, but with the khemri unable to dish out damage and dp not really being that special anymore I find myself wondering what is supposed to be fun with the khemri team. They still can't pass, they don't deal a lot of damage, and they don't have a lot of random elements etc. I have failed to find the allure behind the team design.

I didn't foul a lot with the LRB4 khemri, but found it a fun team to play since you had to develop a positioning strategy where you would have to figure out ways to move the ball forward while tieing up opponents and dealing damage with the mummies. It was also quite a challenge to keep the skeletons from going out.

With the skeletons being able to soak up damage and the mummies not dealing much damage the fun aspects have been diminished from both ends.

I can imagine that people who thought Khems were fun to coach before are disappointed in the changes, but I don't agree that they've become worse. Yes, you do miss the mummies with their MB at lower TR, but consider the 4 TG, 1 or 2 T-ra, 2-B-ra, 3 or 4 skellie setup you will mostly be using.

You get + 5 or 6 total MA and + 3 or 4 tick skulls on line fodder.

I find that they have actually become better at winning than before. Obviously they're not a Tier 1 team and don't offer the consolation of pulverising the team that's beating you, but they did actually recently win some Table top stuff and that never happened with the old khems who only ever won the Most CAS trophy.

Where's the fun?

The fun is in knowing that if you win with them you probably played your position game very well.

+move is much better than the mighty blow the guardians lost. Remember how awesome +ma mummies were for the old khemri. 33% speed increase :)

+ma on the throwras means you can actually use them as ball carriers, and let the blitzras focus on bltzing (and ra-ing, possibly).

i think what will hurt khem long time is the team management factor:

Decay on Guards /even eith regen), no Mb at the beginning (ages to skill) and no general access (potentially no blocm after 3 or 4 skills)
