[L] Star Wars
Just an initial league idea I thought some might like to read, review, laugh at... join? ;)

The first notion of it came about from myself and a couple OBBA coaches fooling about in the OBBA forum.

Anyway, for your critique
==============

Coming soon, to a FUMBBL league not so far, far away…
STAR WARS (Unfinished)

Synopsis

Following the success of the LOTR Group conversion, this league aims to capture the fluff of the Star Wars films.

Competitions would centre around the Jedi Knights and Sith Lords of the league, these characters being paramount to the group structure.

Ergo, to emulate this, the largely defining part of the league would be that your roster would be limited, categorised based upon the side in which you fight:

Light – Jedi/Clone
Dark – Sith/Droid

Team Structure

For the remainder of this, the term Jedi will be synonymous to Sith and Clone synonymous to droid unless otherwise stated.

A roster would be split into Jedi/Sith and Clones/Droids.

Jedi

Jedi’s can be a linemen or positional player. A Jedi will be denoted as being such on the Roster by prefixing either Darth or Jedi in the player names in the following manner:
Jedi Skywalker
Jedi Kinobi
Darth Vader
Darth Maul

Each team may always hire up to at least 2 Jedis, but may not purchase anymore unless a Jedi Master is amongst there ranks.

Jedi’s would begin as Apprentices and progress as below based upon SPPs.

0 – 16 Padawan/Apprentice
17 – 51 Jedi/Sith
51+ Jedi Master/Sith Lord

Once a Jedi attains the Ranks of a Master/Lord then that Jedi may take an apprentice, thus, for every Master the team has the team may purchase another Apprentice.

Therefore:
Number of
Masters/Lords Padawan/Apprentice/Jedi/Sith
0 2
1 3
2 4
3 5
4 6
5 7
6 8
7 9

If at any time the team has a number of Jedis that their Master total cannot support, then the excess number of Jedis must be retired.

Clones

Clones start out with the necessary skills to play Blood Bowl but still have room for improvement, however limited. To represent this, a clone is allowed to progress to 30spps, upon reaching 31+ the clone will be retired.
This helps to place the emphasis on the much more skilled Jedi class. From a fluff point of view, the clone has become battle readied and is conscripted into duty.

Unlike Jedis, clones are limited in the skills they can take. Clones cannot take the following:

Leader – They are here to take orders only.
Dirty Player – Clones simply lack the right moves to truly “Finish” someone like a trained Jedi does.

Optional Limitations:
There are few limitations, and all aim to be in character to the different factions of the forces, the following apply:

Jedi:
The code of the Jedi does not allow them to finish a helpless opponent, nor would they instruct their clones to do so.
To reflect this, if a Jedi fouls a player and is sent off then that Jedi has stumbled from the path of the righteous. Following the game contact a Group Admin and roll a d6. On a 5 or 6 the Jedi has succumbed to the Dark Side and must be retired.

Sith:
The Dark Lords do not tolerate incompetence from their underlings. Should a Clone roll a double skull, that results in a turnover then they will be dispatched in a horrific display of Sith power… chopped in two, blasted into the eer… crowd… have their collar tightened etc… effectively, after the game the player must be retired.
(Optional rules – This may also apply to an Apprentice)

Any (potentially) forced retirements should be reported to Group Staff after the game by both coaches for verification purposes.

Star players and Wizards may be hired, these are assumed to be wandering Jedis enlisted to the cause.

Tournaments

Empire Strikes Back

This tournament pits the full forces of teams against each other. Teams are divided into four Star Systems (e.g. Dagobah system) that comprise of X teams each. Each team plays the other in a scheduled RR.

At the end, the winning teams of all the four systems contest in a KO tournament to decide the true Galactic Champions!

Depending on the number of teams, additional tournaments could be provided for 2nd placed System finishes etc…

Galactic Champions:
The Galactic Champions are the supreme rulers of the Galaxy, All Hail!
It is they and they alone who have the ability to command the whole Galaxy to do their bidding.
To represent this, the Galaxy Rulers have the ability of issuing a decree. This Decree allows for the basic Group rules to be subverted, adding player flavour and creativity.

A decree can be almost anything as long as it is agreed to by Group staff, this could be:

Clones now conscript at 51spps!
Dirty Players are outlawed!
Etc…

Return of the Jedi

This tournament pits all teams in the galaxy against each other in a large KO tournament. Return of the Jedi allows Jedis to truly stand out and be counted. The tournament only allows active Jedi participation in teams of 4, i.e. 4 v 4.
(4 v 4 details to come)

The team that wins is considered to have the Supreme Master Jedi amongst their ranks, who’s midi-chlorians out numbers all others!

The Master Jedi is allowed to issue a single Blood Bowl challenge between any two Jedis on any two teams. This would be a 1 v 1 game. The losing teams Jedi must retire.
