Turn Fat Into Dollars - FUMBBL Fundraiser
The scale this morning displayed a record weight of 95 kg, 2 kg higher than the previous top. A close look in the mirror confirmed the bad news. I am too fat, something has to be done. Unfortunately my self-discipline and ambition are low most of the time. But turn something into a game or contest and chances are pretty good that I catch fire.

To raise some funds for FUMBBL would surely be an incentive, and much more if some of you track my efforts or even join, by either trying to shed some weight too or donate some dollars for the pounds I (hopefully) lose.

I plan to reduce my weight from currently ~95 kg to something between 87 kg and 82 kg - until the beginning of August 2017. To make it to 87 kg won't be easy, 82 kg is a real challenge. I intend to post the progress each week here

I pledge to donate 5 USD per kilo that I lose from 95 kg to 87 kg and 10 USD for every kg I don't lose, so min. 40 USD, max. 80 USD donation.

Will you "lose weight and donate" too or make me try even harder by pledging to donate for the weight I shed, especially for those kilos below 87 kg? Would be great, for FUMBBL and much more for me.

Thanks for reading,
Mean

Updates:
27.03.: 91.5 KG. Mainly loss of water and less food in the belly, not yet significant reduction of fat. Still a good start.
03.04.: 91.1 KG. Right direction, slow progress ...
10.04.: 91.7 KG. Ugh, wrong way. Have to work on self-discipline, but that's easier said than done.

I think you are talking to the wrong community, we are all already svelte and toned, like Secretariat in his prime. Fumbbl is what we do in between reps.

Ok, dude. This is an amazing goal and I want to support you.

I will donate 80 USD extra but only IF/WHEN the real target is achieved.
82 Kg = 80 USD
83+ Kg = 0 USD
That is 80 extra reasons to reach your own goal. Go mate!

err, 95 kilos to 82 can be considered unhealthy depending on height and overall health.
Eg: im 6'2" and my prime fighting weight was just under 85kg - If I want no fat on my body and a lack of muscle i could potentially hit 165lbs (74~kg) and consider myself unhealthy. Currently I am at 94kg and I hate it(didn't get a choice in it though - personal stuff) but I am considering a 6kg reduction until about August myself...

10 kilos in 5 months though is definitely plausible if honestly still a little to harsh on the body. Also taking into account are you building muscle or just losing weight through some horrid vita-diet... 87kg sounds like a decent bar to set for August with maybe 82kg for the end of the year if you are under 5'8" in height.

Still, this is just my not-professional-anymore opinion. Please stay healthy so you can play more Fumbbl games. If you'd like I can also give interim advice... To anyone really, since all the new "take protein" garbage diets(yes you heard me) have been ruining peoples futures for the last 10 years.

I would like to join your challange. I restarted running recently (after a broken bone stopped me sporting and getting me more fat than ideal).
I am 86 kg at the moment, and i would like to go below 80kg.

You are all heros! I will sit back, get fatter, and open a bag of chips for this. :) I have small kids that fecks up my sleep, and as long they do that I have no plans on loosing weight. I'm 103 kg, and ideal for me would be about 92-94, as I'm a tall motherf*cker!

Good luck!

I will chip in 2 dollars for every 1 kg you drop from 95 and downwards.

I'm in. I am currently 105 kg and aiming for 95kg. I'm not sure I can do this by August but can but try. To do this I've started running again and stopped eating sugar entirely. I am 193cm so 95kg would get me to a much better BMI. I have been there before (a long time ago) and more recently got down to 98 last October. Same donating rules for me too

Thanks for your replies and pledges, I hope some more fumbblers will join!
@CroixFer: that's a tough one, but maybe right the challenge I need :)
@Lorebass: I am 6'23'' but no worries, I don't intend to use artifial help or creepy diets. 20 years back I weighed 80 kg and was in top shape (ran a marathon that year). Admitted 20 years is a long time and my body has changed (not only at the wrong places), but going back to a similar weight will not ruin me. Less sweets, less alcohol, more sports will do the major part.

I'd pledge $100 if you would do it following a few simple 'paleo' rules. Before and after pics required, of course.

1) Cut out bread, pasta, and cereal.
2) Promise to eat bacon when you are between meals and are hungry. If you are not hungry enough to cook bacon, you arn't hungry enough to snack.
3) Walk every day. No crazy stupid exercise routine. Walk. As much as you can. A few push-ups can't hurt either.
4) Don't drink calories.

That's it. Everything else is cool.

Best of luck in any case.

I'm glad someone pointed out it might not be healthy cutting that much that quickly. But seems like you plan on going about it the right way. Talking to your doctor can never hurt either so long as you are honest with them and with yourself.
I use to struggle to put on muscle back in the day when I played American football. I was told my target weight was 180lb. At played at 12 stone and felt that was my fighting weight. 13 stone these days and would like to get down to at least 12 and a half by August. I will do this by walking and cutting way back on fizzy juice.

I'll get in on this...

Until August, eh? I'm at 96 kg. myself (just had to look up the conversion of 212 lbs.) I would like to get to 198 (90 kg). I haven't been below 200 since before I stopped smoking. I was up to 230 a year and a half ago, though... so I think I know how to do it with diet and exercise. Just need to push it further. I think I can do it.

So 5 and 10 puts me at 30 USD min / 60 max. Gonna post this in a blog and call it the Meanandugl Challenge.
