Coffee and keyboards - Rule of three
Some of you may know by now that I ritualistic drink coffee when I play (this indeed means 6-8 cups per day if I play a lot, more coffee then I drink when I work). Now... I honestly don't remember spilling coffee on the keyboard THIS time, but suddenly b&n+1 (on the numpad) does not work properly. I'm distracted cant chat properly, put Ag+ frogs on the line, and other minor mistakes. But the game must go on...
So now I'm down 4-0 and line frog... my coffee is cold(!) and I missed a lecture on internal auditing. My keyboard still does not work (I'm considering water before tossing it) and I curse to my self that I broke the rule of three.
1) Always have a spare tie in the drawer, to switch out the coffee stained one when needed
2) Always have a new shirt in the drawer, to switch out the one with coffee on when needed
3) Always have one or more spare OEM keyboards in your desk drawer....
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.
It is by the juice of beans that thoughts acquire speed,
the teeth acquire stains, the stains become a warning.

That was a quite funny blog post. 6-8 cups can easily disappear by accident if i just take one deep breath tho.

You can wash a keyboard, just make sure it is completely dry before plugging it back in. I would air dry for 48 hours to be absolutely certain.

I had a service call from a nightclub once to fix their malfunctioning lighting controller. I get it back to the shop and discover that someone had spilled either beer, soda or both on the thing, and that it had dried on the motherboard. All those little sugary crystallizations were causing fun shorts and misinformation on the LCD. The fix!? Dunk the damn thing in the sink... scrub it with a toothbrush... dry it out... works just fine :)
The cost to them? $300. A bargain. $1 for the toothbrush, 50 cents for water and sink rental... $298.50 dumbass charge.

This is of course completely fictional - at least I will deny that this ever happended to me...
1. Don't spill red wine into your laptop
2. If you do, don't do it in your work laptop
3. But if you do it anyway, don't lie to the guys in the IT shop that it was water - they will find out anyway when they open it up and laugh their asses off.

You don't need a spare keyboard, just a spare laptop.
And probably also a spare mobilephone and 50€ in the drawer.

Yes, its the sugar content. I used honey the last month or so, real work coffee has sugar+milk. No mocha pot, its usually drip, at times steam pressed espresso.
As for underpants, I'm betting there is a lot of coaches that play naked or with just a T-shirt on. Makes underpants a bit milquetoast...
As for Whiskey, I never do, but one of my regular opponents in board-gaming does at times, we are fairy equally tied in PoG, but when he drinks Whiskey the edge goes to me, and I also know it is my only shot at beating him in ASL (he is multiple Nordic champion).
