When I first joined the sight, box was notorious for being very unfriendly to the newer coaches. For a long time I refused to even attempt it. I stuck to Ranked and Stunty.

However, in just over 30 games, I have learned that Box is really no different than Ranked. In fact, I would even say I almost prefer it. In the GF, you could sit for a very long time until a coach comes who thinks his team is far superior to yours in every way. Then you will get a game. It is a shame, but that is just about the way it is. There are a few out in the Ranked scene who love to play anyone, anytime. These are the coaches who make Ranked still fun from time to time.

When I decided to start my box run, the main question was which team to take. I thoughy long and hard about sticking to what i know best, CDorfs and Undead. Then I thought it would be fun to learn to enjoy the new environment with a new team. I decided to go with Underworld, for a mix of bash and craziness. Was been really fun and I look forward to trying to reach 100 games with the team as their first milestone.

So for all those new coaches, or even older ones who have heard nothing but bad things about the Box, give it a try. It is a very competitive division that will force you to learn to play a little more conservatively at times. For the whole "nothing but clawpomb and killer teams" thing, look at Ranked and see how many choas teams are sitting there waiting for prey. Every division has its ups and downs. Just take that first step and enjoy it.
