Obituary: Orb, legendary troll
Orb, the intelligent useful troll, was killed by a piling on tomb guardian from the Angry Newscasters.
- 174 games, 992 blocks, 65 casualties, 185spp
- The #2 all time orc troll star
- The #1 all time blocking/blocks/oldest
It was a fitting end to a glittering career. He struggled with injury later on, afflicted by a niggle and -ST, but he was determined to reach 196spp and become the #1 all time orc troll star, sadly the one goal he'll never accomplish.
He even managed a bit of ball play in his time, recently helping the team to comeback from the brink of defeat to steal a draw by picking up and handing off the ball in an outrageous play that saw Jan-Erik storm off in disgust.
In the same game that took the troll's life, Barnacle, the #1 all time orc fouler, suffered a major setback that will almost certainly lead to his retirement.
Bio
This troll's mental capabilities are so great that he often pauses to pontificate on scientific matters well beyond the comprehension of normal mortals. This means he tends to play Blood Bowl like his intellectually inferior brethren.
Orb's first stint in the team only lasted 1 match. Injured beyond natural repair, he returned to the swamps where he found a witch doctor who traded a new leg for his soul. As with most sentient creatures, Orb does not believe in God so is not particularly afraid of what will happen to his soul once he dies.
He has learnt from his initial stint and come back as a particularly useful troll - when he is able to take a break from mulling over his latest quantum theories.
He showcased his intellect by picking up block for his first skill. For his 5th skill he mastered dodge to become a real menace for opposing teams.
Be warned, this intelligent troll does not come with equivalent manners and poise. He has a keen interest in the anatomy of creatures, and is known to rip off limbs in order to study their construction! In a match against some lizards, he was so intrigued by the subtle similarities between skinks and sauri that he ripped apart one of each just to trace their common ancestry.

I really, really, really like to talk in-game, unless my opponent is complaining about my slow play. (Once had an opponent complain about my slow play, then complain about my lack of banter when I stopped chatting to play faster.... can't please 'em all.)
One thing I really like to talk about is, well, what's happening in a game. If I feel like I can't win for losing, I'll say it. If my opponent does the same, I don't mind when they say it. I'll agree or disagree, as warranted.
"I keep turning over!"
"You're rolling too many dice."
"Damn, that's like my fourth doubleskull in 11 blocks."
"Yeah, I hate that. Sometimes you eat the b'ar..."
Both of these conversations enhance the fun of the game and, and may even move the skill curve for the whining coach.
