FUMBBL Cup XII Day 4
Did you know the deadline for round 1 is Wed 16th Oct? Did you know only 22 teams are in round 1? You probably did, but just in case! Everybody else has until the 23rd. Check the tournament schedule if you are unsure if you are in round 1 or 2 for your first game.
Remember, any problems scheduling games, if you don't bring it to the attention on a tournament admin before the round deadline then you'll risk a temporary ban from future majors - I know from experience! The tournament admin to contact is also listed on the tournament schedule.

It's our biggest inducement haul yet as well known Dark Elf I Say You Fellows tower 1230TV above Halfling TV Chefs. The Fellows receive and easily control the first half. It looks too easy, then the wizard pops the ball T8 and the pick up is snaked! Game on! However once more (a trend in this year's FC) the potential for a shock is immediately squandered as the flings inexplicably pass the ball - this time the pass is made by the receiver is an easy target, and the Fellows steal to score quickly. The TV Chefs nearly equalize as a tree briefly has a hold of the ball but they can't keep the elves at bay who almost score a 2nd.

One anticipated mismatch turned out to be so, as Chaos Nihontō ground down a game Dwarfalot. An interesting -ST/+AG/block/tackle death roller nearly intervened but couldn't knock the ball loose, but the dwarves were never really in it 2nd half. Sadly no permanent damage was done to Nihontō.

Much to the surprise of the spectators, he hands it to a team mate who makes a break out in the open - the coach perhaps feeling the heat from a seriously injured vampire. Fourfangs is in range... but ridiculous thrall dodging screens it off. The rat ogre nonchalantly goes through them to blitz, chewing up a reroll and taking the vampire down on the frenzy hit! Deafening cheers! A reckless pile on leaves the sweeping gutter runner vulnerable to a thrall so a pass is unwisely attempted to a marked linerat - debog swoops in to steal the loose ball and equalize. With no strip ball to threaten the legendary vampire, the rats must rely on doing damage in the 2nd half and seriously injure another legend vampire (-AG apo killed) but cherServiteurS knock out lots of rats and score easily to win.

Also playing are Dark Elves News Team who get a wizard and babes against Nurgle St-Lys Débr'Ailleurs SLDA. It's a rough start for the elves on their drive with 2 serious injuries and a dead blitzer. They manage to score anyway but the SLDA equalize before half time and News Team have just 8 to defend in the 2nd half. An early wizard and there's a fight on for the ball but the Nurgle come away with it and get another kill on the way to victory.

Next up is one of my favourite teams - Hellbound Charioteers against fun Necromantics Blood, Bread and the Ugly who only have golems and zombies. The Charioteers sport an ST5 bezerker but it's the snow troll that opens the game by killing a flesh golem! Soon the necros have a kill of their own, but the apothecary rescues the runner. A missed long pass is caught by an Ulfwerener as the Charioteers exploit their opponents lack of speed and the Count almost single-handedly works defense but he can't prevent 1-0. They may be slow but the Ugly can do damage and brutalize the norse in the 2nd half! 9 in the Charioteers casualty box going into overtime and 10 at the end as the zombies clear the pitch in a spectacular win.

They survive more skulls to equalize T5; 2-2. It ends up 4-3 and the Watchers go through.

I didn't get to see it but the lesser TV chaos dwarves do the major damage however can't keep the Lone Stars out who score in both halves for a 2-1 win. Hthark made his first FCXII appearance and was among the casualties.

When no screen was set up, the Coat scored. 3 turns to reply, a riot makes that 2. An SPD wolf shows deft feet to slip through the screen for 1-1. The 2nd half is brutal and fairly 1 way as SPD score with only 2 PSA players left, the wizard wasted and the bribe snubbed. However, SDP burned their rerolls needlessly and PSA regeneration is superb. The Coat makes the OTS and it's overtime - PSA win the toss. Game over! Not quite. Instead of holding back like the 1st half, the Coat stays closer to the play. A zombie flunks a block, burns the last reroll doing so, and it's the beginning of the end as the super wolf is knocked out. A lightening bolt right then might have been a life saver. An instant skulls turnover completes the turnaround and SPD steal to win.

A competitive looking game between Skaven Legends of the Guard and Amazons Edged Souls but the rats walk it 3-0.

It looks like a mismatch as Necromantics I Want My MTV look down 720TV to Chaos Pact Furry Mercenaries, who bring Ugroth Bolgrot and his chainsaw among other goodies. The carnage starts T1 as Bolgrot chops up a wight dead, T2 hurts a wolf. Neither regenerate. He absorbs punishment all match and late in the 2nd half hurts a ghoul. It makes an impact, as the teams are more evenly matched and fight it out in an epic overtime full of skulls that ends in a coin toss.

Even the best known cpomb coaches like Brasky have some element of non-cpomb to their builds and a little variation.
Just spamming cpomb is mindless and you'll struggle to find anybody on this site who wouldn't be happy to see it obliterated. The added irony of you being a known picker in ranked doesn't help your cause.

It was quite the close game against Azyx with his Vampires, and I was quite happy to see the POMBer leave the pitch, but that strength 6 blodging Vampire in combination with the just ridiculous amount of KOs he was hitting, the win was to be expected... Especially with not trying to re-roll the hit from Fourfangs with the OTT attempt.

I have a pure kill team because I like it.
I am not worthy to be compared to the great Brasky. I am merely Brasky-Lite.

Lets be honest here. Everyone loves hearing a crunch or splash after they perform a block. Cpomb spammers are just more honest about their addiction.
Of course I tend to avoid them as well, but I have never felt responsible for anyone elses "fun" when playing a game. Ones "fun" is his/her own responsibility. If they have fun by picking, spamming cpomb, or scouting out teams making sure they dont spam cpomb(picking?)before playing, it doesnt matter....

Otherwise i never played KenThis but at least he plays high TV Cpomb, unlike some awful minmax 1200/1300 cpombs teams that destroy you with 2/3 cpomber.
Those are by far the most antisocial coachs (along minmaxer zons).

Great work with these reports. It's a huge undertaking and much appreciated. Also I consider the expressing of opinions essential, even if it is critical of a coaches in game decisions or team building choices. It adds spice to what would quickly become a tedious list of facts and data if done the wrong way. Keep up the good work.

Great work so far. You summed up my game quite well, I can't really add much. Bolgrot's saw and the Minotaur with Juggernaut pretty much did us in.

Shouldnt coaches send Chainey a small note about the game mentioning important parts of the match, as its impossible to report accurately on every game, and then he will get a feel for that match, plus, he will also have lots of messages to read and think he is really popular!! :))
