I'm about to start another live stream, where the intent is to guide you through how to create player portraits for FUMBBL using GIMP. Feel free to come watch (although the link will remain active with the archived version if you're not able to watch live).

I never knew GIMP was free. I have photoshop CS5 but I still have trouble sizing images to the required pixels. I watched the first 10 minutes or so and I realized that it is amazing you take an hour of your time to explain to us how to resize pictures....almost telling us to quit being lazy and stop using the generic default pictures. Every time I play against a team that has great fluff, team photos, team bios I feel like such a bum and I am not getting the full effect. I also realize this is partially why a lot of people don't want to play killer teams after they have gone and pimped out their team.
After watching this I vow to download GIMP and start doing some player photos for my favorite teams and giving the players Bios.
It is great that you explain about copyrights because after reading about the PirateBay getting raided over in Sweden that is the last thing we want to happen to FUMBBl! :-)

If you have Photoshop CS5, you certainly don't need GIMP. Everything I did in GIMP can be done in Photoshop as well.

I am a total NOOB when it comes to PS. I have it because my sister gave it to me, not because I needed it....
When I size pictures and upload them to the site they come back really large. I suppose if I spent more time with it I could figure it out but I spent 4 hours one day just trying to merge 2 pictures without the success I was looking for..... Maybe I will give it another college effort before I try GIMP.
