FUMBBL :: Online Blood Bowl League

January 3rd marks the birthday of FUMBBL. This year it's a big one: 20 years. It's an incredible amount of time, and it's hard to wrap my head around the fact it's been so long since FUMBBL officially launched back in 2003. It's quite mind-boggling to consider that some of the people who play on the site today weren't even born back then, and that I've been running the site for a very significant portion of my life (not quite half of it, but not far off). It's incredibly difficult to express what I feel thinking about this. Happiness? Pride? Amazement? Needless to say, I love FUMBBL and the community. There are so many great people here who spend their time making it a better place. People playing, people chatting about whatever is new and how to interpret rules, people who proudly share their latest hobby projects and photos of painted miniatures and people who express their love of the game in various other ways.

Back in 2003, FUMBBL was very different in various ways. The rules were different, the client was not the one we use today, and the people who were active back then have mostly moved on to other endeavours and paths (Personal, sentimental note: Some of us still remember you Cusi). In other ways it's very much the same. A gathering of people who enjoy Blood Bowl and want to play or talk about the game; or simply have found friends on the site and stick around to talk even without actively playing anymore.

Without the amazing community we have somehow managed to maintain over these 20 years, FUMBBL wouldn't have survived this long. There has been a number of significant challenges over the years and I'm certain there will be more going forward. I'm also certain that we'll do our best to overcome future challenges as we have done in the past. The support that is shown when there is a need is incredibly heart-warming and shows how important FUMBBL is and has been to many people here.

So with that, I want to thank you all for being a community I am proud to have been a part of for two decades. Thank you for being awesome.

Christer, I joined in August 2003 and am so happy that you have provided this outlet for Blood Bowl for me for so many years. Its been a big thing for me. My daughters (who are in their 20's) recall their young childhoods with the sound of fumbbl in the background (the grunty block and the tick-tick-tick of movement). It was a godsend when I lived in Dubai for so many years where there was zero table top and today fumbbl is still, after all these years, my #1 way of spending my downtime. Java Client FTW! The fact that fumbbl survives all this time against Cyanide graphics is testamount to to the community here. Happy Birthday Fumbbl!

Christer, I've been on this ride w/ you since November of 2002. I remember how very different Fumbbl was back then, claw/rsc debates, sending in match report files & waiting for your team to be manually updated so you could play again was so much fun too! Needless to say I've enjoyed this community more than any other I've ever belonged to, online, & it's the only community that I always come back to, if only just to check out the news lately, but I'm getting back into TT atm. Thanks for 20 years of providing me w/ my BB outlet. I appreciate it bud.

I'm on fumbbl since August 2003, so more or less from the very beginning.
I never left the site; when I was younger I was playing really more than now and I was quite active on chat, forum and even on real life with some other Fumbblers.
Maybe it could sound too much, but fumbbl.com really changed my life.
I could write a book with all the reasons :D
Christer is the main man and I don't have all the words in the world to express my gratitude. Cheers to all the admins, supporters, contributors, etc..
As said, I should write an entire book about, maybe I'll find some time to put it down on the next 20 years :D

Amazing achievement!

Been here almost as long and it remains my most prolific source of BB to date. Mostly in leagues, but those leagues all include people from multiple countries let alone cities and thus have only been made possible by your efforts.

Im from chile and I found this right before the pandemic, same time I found BB, and without you and this site, it would have been very difficult to get in love with the game. 2 year have past and we had created a comunity here, and brought a lot more coaches to the site, many thanks to all the team who is behind this.
