Great stuff! The tier list looks more interesting this time around. Is Cindy getting banned as well?

Snotlings aren't T2 without the megastars IMO

Rawlf hasn’t played game 60 - a win will rob Elyod of the DE bonus!
Also: exciting times ahead!
I predict exactly 4 OWA teams will be created in a bbt squad :D
Posted by Macavity on 2023-04-25 20:10:30
I can still field 4 teams of Undead for my squad, and am therefore thrilled!

Good update, thanks

Not facing those stars anymore is great news. Is this a GW initiative or fumbbl only?
Posted by WiIfred on 2023-04-25 21:41:04
Awesome to deal with the Mega stars.
When GW can´t balance the game then Christer can <3
Posted by Nelphine on 2023-04-25 21:47:38
mega stars were defined by GW, and the implication was that league commish' (such as Christer) could use it to fine tune their own leagues and tournaments. GW doesn't actually say they should be banned, but by defining these stars, it makes it easy to identify which ones are (broadly) considered problems.

Awasoam news !
Now to make BBT8 perfect would be putting newbie protection to teams within 15 games to play eachother and make old teams game themselves in scheduler ;).
Everybody wins.
Posted by BeanBelly on 2023-04-26 13:50:16
I agree with MerryZ, that boy alwaAys talks sense.
Posted by Nelphine on 2023-04-26 16:44:03
@doclystria they do. (Closer to 63%)
But the absolute volumes of games were low so Christer chose to encourage them.

Just amazing what Christer and everyone helping out with Fumbbl are able to do! Thanks for all your commitment to the game.

I'm not sure we need rookie team protection beyond what's already in place, It will make the draw harder and I'm not sure it solves much. At least my teams tend not to grow much beyond 1300TV in the 15 games they get.
Posted by BeanBelly on 2023-04-26 22:33:17
Joost a question: is there any rookie protection already in place?
My vague memory of what Christer said on PC's podcast is there is nothing.

I believe there is a maximum TV gap that is allowed, designed to avoid morg.(300k maybe)
But it's all games, not special for new teams.
Posted by MattDakka on 2023-04-27 13:11:10
@Nelphine: there is no max TV gap designed to avoid Morg, otherwise this match would have not happened:
https://fumbbl.com/p/match?id=4454614
350 TV gap.
Posted by Nelphine on 2023-04-27 14:44:15
technically, it might be a 350k limit then, as that would still avoid morg :P but i could be wrong and there isn't such protection
Posted by MattDakka on 2023-04-27 15:02:57
Right, I was thinking of old Morg's cost. :P
Anyway, we can safely say that a TV gap up to 350k can happen.

great christer! You have made the Trophy even more attractive. I look forward to the 8th season!

Deeproot off the board for flings. Yeah, that's awesome news. Not like they don't suck enough now they take their most commonly selected/ effective star away. Good example of how 'one size fits all' doesn't work.
Posted by Nelphine on 2023-04-30 01:22:27
While I agree, making one team a problem is better than making 5-10 teams problems.
That being said, I agree with you and would love to find a league willing to test star prices per the work I've done in the forum thread.

All Stars uses them. :D

@Matt the teams in the match you show both had at least 20 games in. (and yours close to 200). That does not apply to my comment about protection for new teams. Which I thought were protected by setting a max TV gap, which widens as the team develops.
I honestly do not think any of the mega stars would be out of place against a team like the one you used here, since it has had so many games to be perfectly balanced and minmaxed. A 20 game team running into that should have access to all stars imho (I don't say this should be made to happen as I understand it would be really hard to get right - but I do feel Morg would be fine as somewhat of an equalizer here to give the Norse a small chance at least).

@Joost: My comment was a reply to Nelphine's post: "I believe there is a maximum TV gap that is allowed, designed to avoid morg.(300k maybe)
But it's all games, not special for new teams."
I didn't imply that there is no TV gap protection for new teams. I replied about this: "it's all games, not special for new teams".
I wanted to point out that there is no TV gap protection all games.
For the record, I think that there should be rookie protection for new teams (I don't like to play as overdog nor as underdog), and I'd like a TV gap cap for older-than-15-game teams, ideally 140 TV.
Big TV gaps should be for Majors and other tournaments, but in the Box I'd like close TV matches. Wizard is too cheap at 150k. I don't want to play vs Wizards, I want to play vs coaches and their teams.
