The Consumer Society Riots
Just a follow up to my previous blog post:

It seems that the rioters and looters do not seem to be only the disaffected "underclass" or lawless youths. Those through the courts so far include middle-aged career criminals, a privately educated university graduate, an Olympic hopeful, a teaching assistant and a bloke with no prior convictions who happened upon a Lidl already half looted on his way home from his girlfriend's house who spur of the moment decided he wanted a case of water (these are just a few examples and not exhaustitive).

It goes to show that the people involved in the riots were opportunists rather than political activists.

Also, as a related aside, see the following link for an amusing anecdote on the best rioting the sleepy West Country could offer: http://www.thisisbath.co.uk/Small-town-gang-cause-bemusement-Tesco-Express/story-13120472-detail/story.html.

We're told everyday that we deserve and need stuff to be happy. We've been breed to be greedy, it's what our society runs on.

Not even slightly surprised.

Yer all scummy, godless maniacs. It is known. ;)

a thousand years ago there was no rioting, no looting, no violence and everyone lived in harmony.

Hopefully t0tem is being tongue in cheek with his last comment....medieval times were hardly harmonious or non-violent. ;)
