3rd match
I feel like a blog whore.

SO! 3rd match already! Against barryb's brand new skaven team. Tied 2-2, I caused him 2 SIs and I had a thrower and liner missing the game.

Before the game, I read the comments from the blog.

this link helped me pick skills, Block for Foodsnatcher. And although I was beginning to see it, seeing it at the near-top of the basic tips "do your dice-less moves first", it's really true. Also learned about fan factor a bit, but it seems it's too late to change that. I'll know better next time.

So what did I learn from the game?
- GRs are very very fast, somewhat agile, and very very weak.
- Block assist FTW. USE THEM! I think I'm getting the hang of it.
- Keep enough rats deep behind to beat up the fast runners hat could slip by. Even my throwers aren't too weak.
- Keeping the enemy down in the scrimmage line seemed to work, but I wont be able to pull it off against all teams. Assist + outnumber helps
- Diceless moves first, then most importants, then less risky, then the rest that matters less. You know, for turnovers.
- 1S is a big difference. Again : assists.
- be careful with the dishes. I broke a plate carrying it back to the counter :(
- My plan to give a GR the ball and sprint isn't terrible, but not really good. I need a better plan. They get beaten up by just about anything that can reach them. The only good point is it keeps the ball deep in their territory for a long time.

So Rarrghsplo and Gubla got skills (Guard and Sure Feet) that I need to remember. Thanks again to the one who gave me the "most used skills" list. But I need to check why my rat-ogre couldn't choose the ones in the list in the link.

From the big guys section in the Help/FAQ game rules:

Most Big Guys can only take Strength skills. A Big Guy that rolls a double while making a Star Player roll may choose to take a Strength Trait, or General, Passing, Strength or Agility Skills. Rat Ogres, Minotaurs and Beasts of Nurgle can also take Physical abilities (representing mutations) if they roll a double.

That's what I thought at first, but I'm confused how it's about 40% chosen. Chances of getting doubles are 1/6? about 16%?

Yep, but that list also represents data from when big guys had G access, and so the stats are a 'bit skewed' towards skills like block and tackle etc
