Inspired by their nomination in
this thread about 'famous teams', I have recently decided to return
Team of the Spider Queen to their proper place as my signature team. TotSQ was my first real team on FUMBBL, and I did quite well with them (one final 8 appearance and one final appearance) before I started diversifying as a coach. Now that I have
skaven,
lizards and
slann teams with 100+ games, dabbled with some success in both
high and
wood elves, and even cheated on them with
other dark elves, I've decided it is time to return to my FUMBBL childhood sweetheart team.
So what does this mean, exactly?
-I will be coaxing TotSQ back to health (first finance- and then injury wise).
- I was silly enough to splurge every last dime on getting from 8 to 11 players, so now I'll have to stick with AG3 linemeat for a while. Wrestle -> fend -> retirement here we come!
-I will push them to 250 games.
- When I lost a legend and a +ST juggernaut witch, I barely played the team for a while. But no more: I now enter just them on gamefinder by default, and played 8 games with them in the last 10 days. I even have a new legend and a new juggernaut witch to show for it!
-I will try to win a major with them.
- Despite often lacking a good oneturner option as well as a good sacker option, I find that Dark Elves' playstyle suits me (or vice versa). I hope to be able to bring the team's last original member with me; there's a potion with his name on it, though somehow I've grown MORE attached to him since his injuries, maybe because they add character.
-I might even start adding fluff.
- What, fluff? Me?! Really? Yes, really. =)
As for my new legend: unfortunately, where
Banehdir the second started his 69th game in perfect health, games 70 and 71 left him a dented skull and a fractured ankle. Realizing his career would be at its end, Banehdir begged coach the Sage to let him play just ONE more game to show the fans how he hadn't yet lost his touch.
And show them he did! With a 4-0 retirement game (including 3TDs by the runner to reach legend), Banehdir the Second now returns to his wives and other slaves with head held high, a true hero of the Underdark.
update: 2 Games later, meet
Banehdir the third: my 4th runner on the team, and the 4th to roll AG5. =D
